Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

First of all, fair play to whoever set up the swimming messageboard. Was wondering if there was ever going to be one - but was afraid to ask in case the answer was "yes please - why don't you look after it"

I'm registered with a WPC, however I mostly train with a masters group locally. And I have been competing in the Leinster Open Sea Races. This has been my first season.

I had to think for a minute, wpc = water polo club?
I watched the 1956 Olympic semi-final last year the the olympic museum in Lausanne.

Then on Firday night I met someone off the irish women's squad who was on crutches after having a leg broken in an international. Is it always so violent?

    Is it always so violent?

Pretty much, yeah! It's much more violent then people expect. It's easy to get away with punching and kicking underwater.

Seen this video last night, one of the best sporting spectacles i've ever seen

Swam competitively up until 99, never won nothin, but I loved it.
Played a bit of water polo in School, yeah its tough and rough, but serious fun.
Did the medial ligaments in 99, no more breaststroke, 10 weeks of no training, wasn't worth training to compete anymore. I do work as a lifeguard and instructor though, So i suppose its success of a sort.
Oh, I lie, I did win a silver medal in a sub-aqua lake swim, does'nt really count though
