Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So, Ballybofey 1 November at 1.30pm for the big one.

    No Ulster Final in Clones.

Its amazing that there are no floodlights in the premier ground in Ulster, I never thought about that before. Still though, with no crowds, they could play it anywhere

When flood lights were installed in the rest of the grounds in Ulster the plan to rebuild casement was being formulated. So in order to give it the best chance of success they have been ignoring Clones, making it less of an attractive option. They don’t even have ball stops.

Game off, a kilcar player has tested positive for Covid, The chairman of Kilcar has confirmed it to the Donegal Democrat

  • Registered Users Posts: 678 ✭✭✭Joe Don Dante

game back on, an absolutely crazy decision!

Game not being televised so I guess I'll stream, quality was decent the last day.

Can only assume it is a marginal Kilcar player if they aren't looking to postpone?

My initial thought was it was one of the lads in the county scene (i.e. the one who tested positive at the weekend)

Thought the County Finalists weren't joining up with the panel until after the Final?

    That's a good point, I may have been putting 2 and 2 together = 5 there!

I might have seen a surname. Not marginal. But possibly not on County panel. Anyway, can't be speculating unless it's been made public.

Kevin Cassidy having a right cut at 'the County' in his Gaelic Life column this week.

Reckons the Kilcar player picked up Covid-19 at a County get together he shouldn't have been at.

Senior Relegation Play Off and Intermediate Final are being streamed (FOC I think) on Donegal GAA website this weekend.

Aodh Ruadh win, bit of a surprise.

I'd say it was the same person tweeting from their account that tweets from Fermanagh GAA account.

The senior final should have gone ahead tomorrow.

Themselves and Cloughaneely have been the best teams for the past couple of years (both are better than St Nauls, for example) and nothing really between them anytime they played. I think both teams started at evens initially and then drifted.

Would expect both teams to to stay in senior. CCF ought to be winning next year. They're a very good outfit. It's quite a young AR side and when you go through their squad have a number of ex county 21's and minors, you would think they've potential to push on a bit which is good that mid section of teams in senior championship probably needs to be freshened up but the first go at senior will be tough. Opportunity for the like of Termon / Four Masters with strong minor teams also to push on in there also.

Dungloe gone not a surprise at all. Hanging on for a while now. Nobody will want to be playing them at their place in the championship next year anyway though, that's for sure. Hopefully they can recover.

Kilcar v Naomh Conaill moved to 11th at 3.00pm

At that time, seems like it will be streamed rather than on TV.

Unless it is the last County Final to be played.

No idea what he is at nowadays, but not surprised to see him in Galway. Padraig Joyce and himself played together in Tralee and one of them I seem to remember was best man at the others wedding ?

No Paddy McBrearty or Michael Langan in the squad by the looks of it.

Conor McKenna named to start for the other side.

This Mayo score puts a bit more pressure on us to get a win today. Pre throw in, we had two points and a far superior points difference, thats been wiped out in one half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,333 ✭✭✭Redsoxfan

If we don't win today we are going down.

If we don`t win today then I cannot see us winning the last one, so yeah we will be going down.
Tyrone are hardly going to do us any favours in Castleba,r and even if they did after today with what Mayo are racking up, score difference is gone anyway.

Didn't really make the most of that half. Throne there for the taking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,099 ✭✭✭babybuilder

Ok first half. Great goal by mogan. Left three Tyrone players for dead. Puzzled by penalty decision. Some good scores by both sides. Hope we don't fade in second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,497 ✭✭✭ArnoldJRimmer

Agreed, they made a balls of that botched kick-out and the 3 on 2, and that looked like a very soft penalty too

With the table they way it is, you could question the thinking on putting a Mayo ref in charge .

No sooner said and he hands Tyrone a point at the start of the second half. Then another one. B####ox.

Great goal, well done Jamie Brennan, didn't blast it. Good response.Burns lucky didn't get second yellow.

Wouldn't normally question a ref's neutrality, but this is getting beyond a joke at this stage

Good win. McKenna's some but if stuff

It was a must win, fair play to them. We were always on top & should have buried Tyrone earlier. We were by far the better team & the Ref didn't do us any favours, the penalty was soft.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,213 ✭✭✭✭charlie14

Good all round performance. I don`t know what to make of young O`Donnell. Caught running into traffic a few times and put the support player under pressure a few times with poor passes when running into the same. I`ve been sore on Paul Brennan a few times in the past. Thought he had a good game today.

I`m not a great one for conspiracy theories, and I`m not saying the two Tyrone lads did not deserve to go one of them should have been gone much earlier. But from how he refereed that game, sending them off when Donegal had the game in the bag would make me wonder. Mayo`s last game is v Tyrone and they need to win to stay up.

Mind you both Monaghan and Mayo winning their last games it would not exactly break my heart seeing Tyrone go down.

It was not great optics having a Mayo man in the middle for the game with what was potentially at stake today and next week.

Not that I would doubt Jerome Henry's ability as a referee to as always carry out his duties in an impartial manner.

Good to win and stay up. Would be nice to spend a few years in Division 1 again.

Some sloppy play, which wasn't surprising but needs to be sorted fairly sharpish.

    Brilliant goal by Mogan.

McKenna is a potential problem but we have had a look at him now and need to figure out how to manage him. Where there is a will there is a way.

Throne and their crappy free taking. Always good to see.

Hard to see R Brennan avoiding a ban. I don't rate P Brennan at all.

Hopefully Paddy and Langan make it back.
