Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

All I need now is the four-for-€6 Franziskaner offer and I'm laughing!

I'm presuming it's to 'simplify' refunds. If you bring something back, you'll be refunded the price minus the % discount applied to that specific item.
Makes sense, hadn't thought of that!

Used it in Baldoyle earlier, took a few goes to read the qr code but got there in the end. Happy days and thanks OP for the heads up!

anyone used these on self service checkouts yet? Not in many of their stores but east wall and moore st both have them, I presume it's like scanning any other item like clubcard in tesco?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,487 ✭✭✭✭Alun

OK, I've figured out why I didn't get the discount on the cookies, I bought triple choc chip cookies instead of (the vastly inferior) double choc chip cookies! My mistake after all!

Just found out the hard way in East Wall that the self-service is NOT yet set up, at the end of scanning everything in...
So, had to get everything voided and off to the normal checkout. Some signage to this effect would have been useful.

Wonder if the electronic receipts in the app will count as a receipt if you try to return something? On the rare times Ive bought dodgy food from Lidl they wont take it back without a receipt, which I never have for food, always do for tools and electronics. Aldi take anything back no questions asked.

By the way dont forget to try the scratchcard function in the app aswell, got a free pack of berry and nuts today.

Sadly the scatchcard feature didnt make a scratching noise when you scratch it. However I won a free fruit and nut pot, the celebrations were wild

The best thing to do there is walk out and leave everything behind and head off to ald :D

And visit an aldi, park up, most likely queue to get in, find and put everything into your trolley again, queue up again and go through the till all for a similar price to that of Lidl.

Lidl will not the loser here, the loser here is the person who does as you suggest.

The €5 off €25 voucher says it's valid for 28 days after registration in the voucher text but then above that it said valid for 7 days yesterday. Now says valid for 6 days today. Haven't activated it.

Anyone want to clarify this issue with Lidl?
'If you need to speak with us our Free Phone Number is 1800 20 10 80'

I don't want to sign unless I"m going to know I"ll be going there and buying e25 worth of goods within 7 days

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 704 ✭✭✭jodaw

Called customer service are they are having issues with tesco network and some others for delays. Apparently requests for activation texts not registering on their side.

Strange that, Im on the Tesco network and it worked fine for me. Probably just teething problems they are sorting out, its not unusual with new apps.

You can use it in any, I happened to shop in a Lidl that wasn’t my favourite yesterday and it worked.

Has anybody in Ireland actually used this in their local store? I find it strange that Lidil have not extensively advertised this?? Might it be a scam?

The scam artist have managed to hack the lidl webpage and infiltrate the printers and change their printers so it details this dodgy app. The Google store was also hacked to display that this app is developed by lidl. Definitely a scam. Buyers beware ;)

    Used it there earlier..

.. saved about €13 all in with the fiver voucher and the deductions.

Then also won a free "Fruit Pot" in the Scratch & Win on the app.. this wasn't there before I used the Lidl card so worth a check to see if it's on app now.

Good idea from Lidl to be fair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,487 ✭✭✭✭Alun

So, used it for the second time today, and this time had awful problems getting the thing to scan. It was the same store, same till, and even the same cashier, but it took several attempts before it worked.

  • Registered Users Posts: 335 ✭✭MB05

I downloaded the app walking into the Coolock store and I received the activation code straight away. Not sure if that was because I was in Lidl at the time or because I am on a network that isn't having problems (Eir). All the offers others previously mentioned were available to me but I did notice some expire in 3 days so I'd say they appear on the app on Wed/Thurs for 7 days and they will expire in that time regardless of whether you activate them or not.

I did have an issue at the till. The till I went to had a dud scanner. When I told the cashier I had the app he told me straight away that the scanner was broken at his till but that he will ring everything up and I could bring the receipt to the till next to his to pay and use the scanner. It went through easily on that till. All in all it was an easy enough experience.

I didn't get €5 off €25. Did everyone get it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 63 ✭✭Kuevasss

Redeemed 2 coupons today (€5 off when €25 spend and Tuc crackers 50% off) at Lidl Terenure. Total savings: €5.75
No issues scanning. Won Fruit & Nut at Scratch & Win (appeared automatically after first purchase). Thanks, OP!
