Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do Cotters do a January sale? The lid I want is 60 euro cheaper there, so if I buy now (with 20% discount) then mcshop are cheaper, but it won't take much of a sale to make the Cotters price cheaper, and I can afford to wait.
I'm feeling just a tad guilty as mcshop were dead sound to deal with and no hassles with a return I had to do. Never ordered off Cotters online but the level of service in the shop is close to non-existent, but they are cheap!

The only problem with them is that you cant actually press them on and keep them on.I bought 1 of them before in Lidl, and you have to keep your finger pressed on it for it to light, which is kinda crappy if you need to work on the bike by the roadside in the dark.Means you have only 1 hand free.

Still handy to have on the keyring and a decent enough light too.

That's true, but in practice you need to use a hand to point a torch where you want it anyway, unless you have a head torch.

For the price and small size of these they are very good.

M&S are doing merino wool base layers (tops & trousers) - like this for example

They're around 30 blips, some more, some less, depending on the 'warmth' (weight).

I got the heaviest/extra warm trousers (bought in store) and they are excellent - very high quality & warm.

And they're almost half the price as the same offering from Knox, Spada, etc.

Just in case you are not sure how to raise the bike on a headstock stand..
It pivots so you'll more or less have it folded in half when sliding it in to position for the pin to go into its place.
As you raise it,it straightens out.
You need to have the bike on the rear stand first.

i'll keep the phone in my pocket so I can text for help if it traps me underneath it :pac: thanks for the tip. I've never put a bike up on a rear stand before either, I suppose I'll need to order those little bobbins too for the lifters back there to slot into?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,463 ✭✭✭✭blade1

    Bobbins would be the handiest.
    What bike have u got?
Is there threading for adding bobbins on the swing arm?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,882 ✭✭✭frozenfrozen

k3 sv650s, fairly certain there are threads but I'd have to check to see what size thread

15% off on motorcycleshop.ie until wednesday with offer code MOTORCYCLESHOP15 - top lads every time I've used them.

You beat me to it :)

Pricing up a Shoei lid at the moment, surprised how expensive Louis are even before adding delivery. Visorshop.com (Crossans) and Helmet City are off the wall too even though helmets are zero VAT in the UK.

What's the story with the Shoei adjustable cheek pads, does the lid come with a selection of sizes or what? Been wearing Shoeis for years but never had a lid with these.

Edit: apparently you get the standard size ones with the lid, you can order the altenative sizes if you want it tighter or looser (oo-er) but most people won't need to.

15% off a lid is a nice discount, it means I could get a nice pair of winter gloves and a couple of bits and pieces and still pay less than the price of the lid alone :)

Some cheap DIY stuff in Aldi next Thursday that would be handy for a workshop/garage and the bike.

Metal spray paint and vernier calipers are some of the items I would go for.....spraying metal bike parts or measuring motorbike parts like nuts n bolts accurately.

Would'nt think it is but Rukka gear is very expensive. If you do the mileage it is deffinitely worth it and with a no hassle 5 year warranty. Have mine 7 years and is still 100% waterproof
