Nearly 2 years old at this stage. But for €90 might be ok to get as a spare.

No band 20 lte. Isn't sharp just a cheap brand now?

For TV's it's worse than cheap.

In Europe now made by UMC in Poland and use a proprietary 2.4GHz remote instead of Infra-red. So you can't use a third party remote , which sucks bigtime if you want to replace it or use a universal to control your Sky/Virgin/Satellite box.

Elsewhere sold off to Foxconn as in the guys whose factories have nets to make suicide more difficult. So yeah it's most likely an generic Foxconn phone.

I'll say one thing in its favour it's one of the only phones besides the Razer phone with a 120Hz refresh rate on the screen, if you use a phone with it every other phones feels like something out of the stone age.

The Sharp Z2 is a rebadged LeEco Le S3.

Big seller in China and probably rebadged to target Europe/US markets who'd be more familar with Sharp.

Seems to get decent reviews anyway, would make a decent first smartphone.

Not sure if they want to get into Europe and US with Sharp brand as they were pushing their own LeEco brand in Americas and opened large office in Silicon Valley few years ago (that ended up bad , but its different story). LeEco is very very big in china , its like Netflix of china with their LeTV service + million types of electronics :)

If its the same company , looks like they are pushing both brands side by side , as Sharp had decent smartphones last few years , one of the first full screen smartphone with the notch (sharp s2). Also checked the wiki for LeEco , and not a word about Sharp. Maybe LeEco was just a making phones for sharp and later decided to enter the market on their own , just like Foxconn and HTC .

Anyway , i know specs are not the best compared with S9, OnePlus6 and Razor , but for the money its very good phone imho.

Add around €40 in customs charges to that.

no band 20 , means no 4g in Ireland right?

Band 20 is used for rural 4G on all networks in Ireland. You will have problems with low/no signal outside cities/large towns on a phone without Band 20.

They were bought over by foxconn about a year ago and have been slowly trying to change peoples perceptions.

They want to bring them back to a household brand and have already started to increase the profits.
The Z2 is fairly decent although i think it was out before the acquisition and the normal price is around €100 now.
As mentioned, it is identical to the Le Eco.

    Really bad reviews

It should be ok if it's a leeco

I'd never go back to anything less than a 4000 mAh battery now
