Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Advice for accident that was not your fault

I was hit by a vehicle that moved into my lane.

I have a dashcam recording that shows the other party is at fault. The other driver denied responsibility, but the damage to my car, the road positioning of the vehicles and the dashcam all show that they were in the wrong.

I reported the incident to my insurance and got the Gardai to attend the scene at the time.

Now, I have no idea what steps to take.

    I have comprehensive insurance.
Should I claim on my insurance or the other persons insurance?

    Do I need a solicitor?

Claim on the other party's insurance, if you have got his/her's insurance details.

No solicitor needed. Contact the other driver's insurance and tell them you are making a claim. They'll probably send an assessor round to check the damage, and look at the evidence.

    Keep the footage safe.

The assessor will most likely look at this and other drivers insurance company will also look over it I'm sure.

I've been in a few and the last one where it went the insurance they couldn't argue at all with the footage I supplied.

Was all sorted in a few weeks.

If you do have issues you can of course use your own insurance but you want to be sure they will get the money from the other side...

Any issues I can recommend a solicitor I've used which were amazing.
