  • Registered Users Posts: 5,049 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Any mention of details for the minor final? Will it be before the senior or on its own in somewhere like Thurles

  • Registered Users Posts: 455 ✭✭Meursault

Bought tickets for the U20 final, when it was originally scheduled for Tuesday night. I cant make it on Wednesday. Is there any way of getting a refund for this? Ridiculous decision to make once the tickets had gone on sale.

7:15 in Thurles. Minor football v Tyrone in Tullamore at 2:30. God forbid they would put them on in the one ground.

Really looking forward to this one. Set the tone for the week ahead!

Back to back All Irelands at this grade would be a fantastic achievement.

I'm nervous already about tonight. Not sure what I will be like by Sunday.

It would be great to win tonight to set the tone for the week hopefully.

First score, a Cork goal from a penalty, happy with that.

Early Flynn goal from a penalty

At the water break its Cork 2-05 v 0-02

    Some start !!

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,556 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Messy stuff from Galway but I’ll take it.

2-05 to 0-02 at the water break.

Game over - but the puck-out that started that move to the goal, was picked up inside the 20m line by the Cork corner back.

Is that rule still there or not?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,049 ✭✭✭zetecescort

If you were being critical we have hit some poor wides. More goals there if we work it to the better placed player

    Ht Cork 2-09 v 0-05 Galway

Totally bossed that first half. Great lead considering we had 13 wides aswell.

Ref is giving them every chance I feel.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,049 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Great save from the Galway keeper. Don't think they'll come back to win the game but Galway will have a purple patch at some stage and could make us sweat a bit. We should be 6 or 8 more points ahead

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,420 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Great first half from us but it could even be better with a lot of bad wides. Galway haven't got going at all.

Just need a few more scores early in second half and this might be put to bed early.

After your post about some poor wides I said there was another one and there were a couple more that you’d be excepting them to get. I agree it was a good save by the Galway keeper.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,049 ✭✭✭zetecescort

After settling again after Galway got a run of scores. Gap went from 10 to 3 and now back out to 7. Galway turn to hit some poor wides

3-11 v 1-11 at the second water break.

Galway started very well as Cork forgot to come out of the dressing room. Galway with too many wides this half.

Cork woke up to get back to a healthy 6 point lead.

Again, ref seems to give Galway a few frees that Cork would not get, last Galway point was clearly a free out for too many steps.

Cahalane has a real turn of speed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,049 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Finished the game strongly. Once we got through Galway's spell on top we kicked for home.

    Well done to all involved

    Cork 4-19 v 2-14 Galway

Back to back All Ireland U20 hurling titles !!!!!!

13 in total at this grade.

Super performance in essence. Wides go leor in the first half, third quarter was poor but at the end of the day it's the scoreline that matters.

An 11 point victory in an All Ireland final will do nicely!

    Rebels Abú !!!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,556 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

    One down two to go.

  • Registered Users Posts: 715 ✭✭✭Mac_Lad71

Congratulations to the Cork u-20's on a deserved victory.

    Rebels Abu.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,420 ✭✭✭The White Feather

A great win for us!! A real team display and we didn't panic when they had their purple patch.

Some great prospects for the senior team there and it really adds to the Cork hurling feelgood factor.

Our new players are really showing no fear and really putting the pride back into Cork. They have a bit of swagger too which is great to see.

Fantastic. The gut in that Cork team is immense. Great start to the 3 finals.
