Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nice blue skies in Cork City. About 14 degrees, breeze is a bit nippy though. Still wouldn't be wearing shorts!

    Loving the blue sky though

milky enough sun this morning but now blue skies ahoy albeit with a breeze (no harm though unless you are on the beach probably)

Strange mist in Dublin 4, like smoke nearly. Any idea what it could be? Its at eye level between buildings

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Gaoth Laidir

That haze is the worst I've seen in a long time. Visibility down to just a few km in many parts, yet up to 40 km at Shannon Airport.

    4 pm.

    Dublin Airport 4.5 km
    Johnstown Castle 5 km
    Finner 6 km
    Sligo Airport 8 km
    Casement 9 km
    ....
    Valentia 35 km
    Shannon Airport 40 km

Up to 21c for a few mins in Sligo in car but went down to 20c n then 19c

23c easily achievable somewhere in Ireland over weekend

    Air pollution? Haze?

Meh, another crap murky day with low visibility, haven't been able to see the horizon all week. Warmer today at least

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,023 ✭✭✭Artane2002

That haze is really taking the pleasantness of the weather away for me, it's as good as overcast weather. It's annoying in the same way drizzle is. It's nicer now though.

Tomorrow is looking less hazy according to the CAMS model

Highest air temperature of the year so far recorded today at Valentia station at 20.4 C.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,922 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

Some changes in the forecast heading in to next week? It's possible we could avoid the fronts with their associated rain bands which would prolong the good weather (still cooler than the weekend though).

And 6 hours later all up in smoke. :pac:

just about squeezed one good day out of the upcoming fine spell here, very hazy today, stiff sea breeze from the northwest has developed in contrast to yesterdays light, warm land breeze from the southeast, plenty of misery drifting about of the coast in the form of banks of sea cloud, becoming progressively cloudier from tomorrow as a cold front and its associated misery drifts in,cloudier still on sunday, with patches of drizzle, supresed anaemic temperatures of around 13 degrees in a chilly westerly airflow.

anyways enjoy the long weekend if you are eleswhere in the country.

f***s all the barbecue meat into the freezer.

lovely Easter weekend coming up over in England too, fine, clear sunny and warm, might reach 25 degrees.

nearly 20 degrees if not 20 in cork city today, garden thermometer is reading 19.5 atm but may be inaccurate. clear blue skies, the breeze is nice and warm. A day for sitting out the back, brilliant

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,753 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

21.1C the highest it has gotten here at my location in Kilkenny @ 13.02pm.

Just saw reports that Air Quality is 'very poor' in Dublin atm. May be the cause of the haze in Dublin?

    Dunsany 20 degrees
    Finner 20 degrees
    Markree 20 degrees
    Mt Dillon 20 degrees

Shannon and Kerry at 21°c at 1:30pm.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,015 ✭✭✭John.Icy

    S.Kildare. 20 degrees.

But the haze and high cloud is shocking. It's like shade temperatures everywhere out there so not actually feeling all to different than a 15 degrees on a clear sunny day.

Hopefully a nice burn off to clearer skies before early evening as per the last few days in Dublin.

21.2C an hour ago near Tralee, probably a degree up on that now. Driving around in short sleeves and windows down. Milky blue hazy sky.

reached 21C here in meath earlier, gone more cloudy now but still nice and warm. Tomorrow could be slightly warmer in the east of the country and looks reasonably good to about Monday.

Slightly cloudy now in Castlebar but still a lovely day, it got up to 20.3C with a gentle northerly breeze.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,922 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

A good bit more cloud tomorrow especially in the north and west.

Some sun breaking through in the east which will hopefully lift temperatures here.

Yesterday afternoon was very nice in St. Anne's Park, otherwise just been hazy, misty or cloudy. Disappointing to be honest. Last April's warm spell was similar.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,464 ✭✭✭Ultimate Seduction

Nice and warm but a lack of sunshine

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,023 ✭✭✭Donegal Storm

Another really hazy day in Letterkenny, considering what we forecast it's been really disappointing here, very little sunshine all week. Warm today at least and a nice calm evening

Edit: Actually its now totally clouded over, just in time for getting home from work..

I think today is less hazy but of course it has to be cloudy since there's less haze! I remember last year had very reasonable weather after the end of the warm spell.

Down to 14c in Sligo now after being 21c at 3

The previous 7 to 10 day promised warm spell looks like lasting 1.5 days in Sligo

Indeed it was after some showery days. The Friday 27th to Monday 30th were on the cool side but very sunny whilst it was wet and cold in southeast England, associated with northeasterly winds then of course we had a great May Day bank holiday weekend.

Overcast but warm evening with no chill breeze.

Ok by me. Nice to be wearing shorts and a tee shirt.

Anyone know what the current outlook is on the models for tmrw and Monday, out on Achill island at the moment. It was lovely earlier in the day, some lower cloud blew in as the afternoon progressed. Conflicting forecasts on iPhone weather, google weather and met.ie....

Well, looking for a dry day tomorrow myself to do some block work and laying concrete and it looks dry but cloudy perhaps in Kerry and again looks like cloudy on Sunday leading to bits of rain, mist and drizzle as the day progresses, hopefully it won't spoil your day . On a plus temperatures fairly decent up around 17 -18C and we might squeeze 19C out of it.

Typical :rolleyes: Sure I'm coming home [to Tralee] on Sunday. Missed it all :( On the plus side I'm not a fan of such high temps so early and where I am, southern Poland, it's a lovely spring like 17C and all blue skies so no complaints. It would pyss me off a lot more to miss a good spell in summer.

Yeah, been hearing a lot of positive reports from a friend in Poland with this April being exceptionally sunny and dry there.
