Anyone recommend a taxi firm or way of booking an eight seater taxi for a journey in Dublin.

Rang nrc and they said that the booking only goes out 20 mins before the time and they can't guarantee a taxi no matter how soon you book in advance.

Will be getting train into heuston and wanted an half eight pick up.

Or worst case just go to the rank on Johns road and jump into 2 taxis

You can pre book with Hailo.

Any experience of these companies and which ones would be the most reliable.

Is it possible to pick out the type of car using the Hailo app?

Booked one recently with NCR, no problem.

The problem is in there being a cab to seat 8 seat close to hand when you get in. This will be regardless of you using Hailo or phoning in your booking as multi seat cabs are not that common. Of those out there they can be taken up at this hour for school runs or hospital bookings for wheelchair.

Go on irishtaxi.org and ask for someone to do it. Get a pm of the guy's number and you can discuss it in detail.

I once prebooked a 6 seater with Hailo and got confirmation.
They never showed and I didn't get any notice of cancellation.
I now only use Hailo for taxis I need straight away.

I'm guessing that 7 years later they've probably figured it out by now.
