Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

looking for some advice on tyres....have Matador Hectorra3 XL all round but I need to replace the back set. Size is 225/40 R18. I find them a bit noisy but generally OK but two questions...

    1) is there a good reason to replace like for like and keep all 4 the same make/model? (the front 2 are in good nick and may last another 6/12 months given the mileage I'm doing these days)
    2) any other suggestions if I decide to go with a different make and replace all 4?

    Cheers,
    PB

As long as the tyres on the same axle are the same dimensions you are ok.

https://www.tyrereviews.com/ is great site with lots of reviews.
I usually recommend https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre/Uniroyal/RainSport-3.htm, good on wet Irish roads.

Seeing as I’ve the same size as you, I can tell you that I got good year efficientgrip performance for €110 fitted. They’re an excellent tyre in a few areas like noise, wear and grip.

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance are excellent in my experience too.
