Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I've got a fly rod and a normal spinning (trolling?) rod and I want to try both on Lough Derg next week for trout.

But I've no clue what I'm doing so I've loads of questions ->

Any recommendations on what type of flies and lures I should be looking to use?

Do I need weights or floats of any kind?

What time of day or weather conditions would be best?

Have I any chance from the bank or do i need to get out in a boat.

    Thanks.

The only advice I can give you is it'll be difficult to pick up a trout from the shore! What part are you intending fishing, it's a big lake...
