Facebook messenger can you trace unknown person?

Hi I have received message requests on facebook messenger from an unknown profile. The messages are not threatening but they are making statements about my partner that are not true. Is there anyway of finding out who is sending these messages ? I will be blocking but the message continueon a different profile.

Maybe report them to facebook? I'm not sure you'll find out who they are from as anyone can set up a fake facebook profile.
