    I've been expecting my package from states this week but an post tracking hasn't moved.
    Do i need to pay or contact the customs?

    Its because Revenue want to know how much VAT may be needed to be payed on it, most likely. Anything coming in from outside the EU gets stopped for VAT.

    you can try emailing an post to speed the process up, quoting the item number and providing proof of total cost

    VAT will be due on the total of item value and postage.

    there is also a collection fee
