Flying in to America - can it be done these days?

Many of us have flown to America for all sorts of reasons. The Electronic Standard Travel Authorisation or ESTA as it's known is one way for us in Ireland to get in to America for a visit of up to 90 days.

And then Covid came along and royally complicated matters.

So, I began my googling. The question was can I get into America after Christmas but before new years? And the short answer was: Maybe.

I read the ESTA website, the Irish Embassy website and trawled through various places on the internet (like this: https://www.bigimmigrationlawblog.com/2020/07/pursuing-a-national-interest-exception-to-the-presidential-entry-bans-on-economic-grounds-not-a-fools-errand/)

So if I get a 212(f) waiver and my still current ESTA is seen in a favourable way I might get in to America

I'll let you know what happens with the 212(f) waiver. Something tells me it's rather unlikely :pac:
