Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Curious about medical confidentiality

Hi there. Someone I know who is working as a doctor abroad made a few comments recently and it got me wondering about medical privacy of information in Ireland.

    1. Can a doctor in another practice access medical information that is held by your doctor without your permission? Officially or unofficially?

    2. In situations where you are getting online analysis & prescriptions by registered doctors (online pharmacies etc), does your regular GP/any other GP have access to this?

    3. If you go to hospital, who is your medical info accessible by? Presumably by anyone with access rights within that hospital, but is there a centralised database for this info – can a doctor within another hospital access this information (or even any GP)?

    4. Similarly for dentists, can any dentist access the information held by another dentist – any centralised database for this information?

    Many thanks
