Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Same with the 48 element digital tv aerials.Only a selected few aldi stores go these reduced from 30 euro down to 15 euro each.

Tut, tut, no such thing as "digital" aerials.

Biggest scam the industry ever committed. In the UK they frequently needed replacement aerials due to new frequency allocation but an aerial is a lump of metal with, if anything, a tiny PCB balun on the collector. We used the same frequency allocs.

    Thread already here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056448984

They've been clearing them at this price for a while.

Well I picked up 2 of the 48 element aerials in Aldi for 15 euro each just before Christmas. It beats paying Arnotts 35 euro for it,Redmond Electric 40 euro for it,or Satworld 30 euro for the exact same aerial.

    They're standard UHF antenna.
We will in fact need new aerials when we switch over the high frequency UHF broadcasting- though its still under negotiation at EU level (who want control and/or to regulate the freed up frequencies- though some countries, notably the UK but also France, disagree).

An old two antennae rabbits ears did just fine for us.

May do fine- depends on where you are though. I have to try and get Kippure from Lucan Village. Suffice to say- I've no RTE.

Some people might need new aerials. Anyone fitting an aerial now can take possible future changes into account: go for a good wideband design, where this provides satisfactory results. Certainly don't fit the now-obsolete group C/D types, which only cover the top end of the UHF TV band, including frequencies already sold to the mobile companies for 4G/LTE.

Think Powercity are selling a saorview that can also tune in the Satelite stations - might be worth considering so you can get bbc etc as well.

Yep a combo box will pick up UK channels using a satellite dish and saorview using an aerial.
