It lets you off. Specifically, it's actually meant for other players when they are on your ship. If you go on a space mission and they want to get off, they need to use it.

If you could blag a pre-order code you MIGHT get in on early access but at this stage Iv no idea if the shops are still given those out.

On a game note, training up skills gets very costly indeed as my only level 20 skill cost me the best part of 2.5k :eek:

It only gets worse and fast - though at the stage you're at, you can ignore some skills that aren't great for your AC, or for how you're playing. And remember, speeder training is 40k in 5 levels!

Also, I think I heard somewhere that GAME were told to give out preorder codes to anyone who bought before the 20th, though I might have imagined it. Without one of those, you're waiting till Tuesday though.

Yeah they're handing out pre-order codes. Two guildies bought it last night and were able to play.

Anyone got a link to a Merc arsenal pve dps guide? I just need to see a basic rotation or priority system

so to you guys and gals who have been playing a while, is the story good? thats all im really interested in tbh,

mmo's up until now never kept my attention all that long as ive never really felt like i had a reason to keep grinding through generic fetch quests, is this any different?

Its quality IMO. The voice acting keeps your attention.

Took out a world boss on Taris with 15 other lads tonight, was great fun

Played it for a while on Friday and Saturday, and loving it. My pc is struggling in certain areas (Coruscant for instance), but other than that it's been great. Started with a Trooper, and got him to lvl11. Really enjoyable mechanics and story, and will go back to him at some stage. Not sure i like his looks though, as i picked the 3rd body choice, and it looks pretty ridiculous at times :P

Started a Jedi Knight after that, and really enjoying it. Went Guardian, and will do some tanking later in the game, but i think i prefer it to the Trooper so far. I definitely prefer his companions (T7 and Kira so far), which is a major point for me. As well...he's a Jedi. How can i resist :P

Will probably start a Smuggler or Bounty Hunter over the next few days as well, just to see what they are like. Can anyone who has gotten further into the game (i.e. lvl20+) tell me if the story keeps it's high quality? And how similar are the stories? As in, i've seen some Troopers/Smugglers in the same area's as i'm currently in with my Knight on Coruscant.

When this wouldn't play very well on my Macbook, I got a bit impulsive and bought the components for a new rig last Friday. Fingers crossed the game works out to be half as good as it looks to me so that I can justify the spend!

LOL! I went for a GTX560, Core i5 2500 3.3ghz, only stretched to 4gb of RAM for now to keep budget down.

I'm quite hopeful that it will handle SWTOR quite well, which is pretty much all it will be used for. I might add a bit more RAM and an SSD in the New Year.

Deliberating intently over what class to role now, thinking Trooper but not 100% yet.

A possible explanation: FOR THE HORDE, the world #3 WoW guild made the full switch over to this game. After playing in a partner Guild for a while I can tell you now -- those guys are insane -- and might explain why level 50's are occurring already. I guess they'd need to be on the same server though.

I actually built a new rig last week and by far the best part of it is the SSD. Programs open instantly and the whole OS feels 'snappier'. For SWTOR, it got rid of the annoying 'pop' when the high res textures loaded a few seconds after the low res ones.

I'm seriously tempted to restart my Trooper, as I really don't like the look of him. I didn't realise body number 3 had massive man breasts :pac: The body choices are a bit mad to be honest. Either that, or i'll just start a Smuggler tonight.

I really can see myself playing this for a long time though. Really enjoying the story on both characters so far.

Most of them have alreayd moved back to WoW

They had a little huff cause they got an 8day ban (rightly so) and used " we are going to star wars" as a cheap jab at blizzard.

They've already posted a retracting statement about how they are going to push for more #1's come Mist of Pandaria, and most of their players are back on WoW, or playing both.

Its been nice to see alot of high end guilds giving swtor a shot, wonder how endgame is going to pan out in this.

Is anyone else getting their Light side/Dark Side, and Social titles? They're not unlocking for me, I just realised. Don't know if it's my account/char or a general thing, or if those were taken out?

The Dark side and pvp ones have unlocked for me, apparently I haven't been social enough to get any of those titles yet though.

Weird, I'm on Social II and Dark Side II but haven't gotten any titles from them so far. Peculiar!

I'm not sure you get any for Dark Side II, I've gotten one for III, but not II.

[edit] It seems you are actually supposed to get 'Sinister' for rank II but I'm guessing it's not working. It's odd alright.

Opened my CE this morning. The Malgus statue is lovely and it's all very well presented, but probably not worth the price. Are the pre-order items included in the product registration code? I didn't see any others in the box.

On the server selection screen there's a tab at the bottom to swap between US and EU, kind of cool that they're not separated by different retail copies.

Pings (during the early release time) were generally excellent, never going about 60 for me (50mb upc).

I did get some ridiculous graphical lag in whilst on the imperial fleet section, only on the last day of early release though, probably because it was crowded.

I was gonna avoid this like the plague but im genuinely curious now, at the worst it will join my Aion/AoC and Rift boxes on a shelf

MMO im playing atm DAOC is pretty much dead and having to run 3 accounts to compete is ridiculous

You don't get charged for the sub until you need it (ie after the 30 days).
This is completely standard for MMOs.

Oh ffs... main tank has stopped levelling or is doing it slowly due to skyrim. Others who said they were rolling tanks went to the other AC. I would've went powertech if I had known this. Only reason I didn't go powertech is I expected to be dpsing (due to so many tanks) all the time and didn't want to be a melee dps.

I'm lv24 so have to decide to continue Merc and always be pugging tanks or re-roll

No its not. Its standard to get your first month for free and then pay from there. If you think about it , you are renting a game for 3 months for 75 euro . Its a little steep. A game thats already 4 years old for that matter.

What? 2 months? Don't get what you're saying. All copies of the game come with 30 days game time.

WoW came out, I went to the store, bought the retail copy, got a month free but had to put my credit card in to pay for it *after* the 1st month. You have to put the credit card/payment details in right away then too, even if you aren't going to play after the first month.

I don't see what is different about this, they're doing the exact same thing.
