Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks op, they're really doubling down on the school lunch market though

I normally buy those rice cake bars anyway so will be stocking up. Will get a few packets of the crumbled ham too and freeze it in batches of 5 or 6 slices.

That cheese was 59c last month, and the ham is expensive imo at e7.45/kg.

Which toilet roll is better value in monetary and comfort terms?

    or
    Aldi 9 rolls 2ply at 0.009c/sheet €1.99

    Aldi
    9 rolls =1.99
    18 rolls = 1.99x 2.
    Lidl
    18 rolls = 3.49

    You can do the maths.

One is 2 ply, the other 3 ply, is the 49c difference worth it?

If the Lidl one is the bigger pack version of this avoid it like the plague. It says "pillow soft" but they must have sourced their pillows from Guantanamo Bay.

The 3 ply one is cheaper, the other one (the 2ply) is made using recycled paper though so the question is more is the environment* is worth the extra 48c and missing ply?

    * I don't know that toilet roll made using recycled paper is better for the environment but I have assumed it is. Happy to be corrected but there's a time and place for the ins and outs of this to be thrashed out and it's not here :)

Whats going on with ALDI leaflets these days? The local ALDI store has no new ones in stock. Lawnmowers and hedge cutters were advertised as being available tomorrow in a past edition but no where to be seen on the current online leaflet. The website has decking paint and outdoors stuff available from tomorrow but not on the online leaflet. ???

Checked the whole receipt. In fairness to them there was no sign up saying they were discounted though. I had just seen on the app that they were supposed to be

Definitely came off, aldi works on a whole system it’s not shop by shop bases, so if yours didn’t come of nobody’s did.

Supermarkets roll out their best offers this time of year with back to school. I see the regular super 6 offers on Fruit & Veg are decent as well

  • Registered Users Posts: 97 ✭✭extrapolate

Been using it for the longest myself. Was grabbing a few bits last week and noticed the packaging change, when I got home I looked and saw new improved recipe was written on it. Now it's sloppy, you squeeze the tub and it squelches up to the top, unlike the one I've been buying all this time which was solid. Shame. Was the house butter here too!

No ham or finger rolls in Blanch center, no surprise really, can do x per customer all they like when its so easy to get around it
