Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bank scam

    I keep getting emails from GT Bank, I presume they are scams, surprisingly they have a very credible web page for everything from loans to customer care to complaints. Anyone else getting them? See this https://www.gtbank.com/

    It's a real bank in Nigeria.
    Either the links in the email are going to a fake page to trick you into entering your details or someone is mistakenly using your email address on their account. - easy to happen with Gmail as it doesn't recognise dots so your.name@gmail is the same as yourname@gmail

    They are trying to temp you into trying to transfer money from that account to your own which in reality they will steal the data, if you do eventually realize that you've been had you are unlikely to do anything about it because you were up to no good your self. Lets say they hit 10000 people if 100 of them try it and they get 200 euros off each that 20,000 then keep doing it.

    Classic phishing, you reply and ask what’s this, they will say it’s your money give us your details to send it, clean out your back account and ride into the sunset.

    I know someone that played along with the guys until they had enough and stopped emailling !

    But "my chap" gave all the info but wrongly intended so the guys were trying to explain how to do it,like dealing with a novice in banking and/or an old person.
    It did ran for a long while until eventually the guys gave up.

    Apparently they are well organised and structured,like a proper business.
