Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RTE school hub question

    Sorry if this has been asked already.

    My son is coming up on 5. He is watching the RTE school program, while my wife and I work.

    We do the experiments with him afterwards, sink or float, density checks yesterday.

    Anyway on Day 1 he had an experiment and homework

    Have they stopped giving out homework if not what was it today? It took him one day to figure out how to dodge homework!!

    Can't find it on the rte sites either.

    The experiment yesterday was about about density. He had objects that he was putting in water and seeing whether the sank or floated. Then he put playdough in the water, it sank, then manipulated it until it floated.

    The programme seems to be aimed primarily at senior Infants, very slow moving, but then there's the science fella who does fun expiements that might suit sixth class children, loads of references to the Muinteoir :o

    I switched it on today...Muinteoir Clíona was teaching the words and melody to "Starman" by David Bowie.

    Not sure of the context but the content was hugely laudable!!

    In my day it was Báidín feckin' Fheilimí and the teacher was a sadistic battleaxe who wielded a cane.....

    How times change...
