Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Savage day here, Pure sunshine and barely a cloud in the sky!

A few wild showers in between the sun down here not so far away and distant thunder
    Very windy
9c but feels cold out in that wind

Breezey, mainly sunny , dry here today. A couple of times it looked like it might rain but blew over very quickly.

There was a few heavy showers this morning but it has turned into a beautiful afternoon with the sun shining and not a cloud in the sky.

Good drying here but would want to be. There was locks of water in the hoof tracks where the cows were yesterday but gone now and getting solid again.

Despite what everyone thinks we're a fairly mixed farm here, and there are about 10ac of rd1 that are a long way from being dry enough to graze, quad nearly got stuck in one field today! I'll be skipping them and going into rd2 until it drys up enough.

Watery sunshine here now, we seem to have escaped the worst of the forecast rain. Grass is wet but ground drying well. Time for a few bags to go out tomorrow I reckon.

Lashed from 3 to 4 and another burst around 5.30.

This would be the wettest part of the county though if it didn't rain here it'd rain nowhere.
Basically on the windward side of a bloody big obstacle.

We've had enough rain here to wash in the fertilizer on the silage ground, if it makes much more it'll wash it off!
Gone cold here as well in the NW

^^ Very chilly with showers in south leitrim.
Gave cows & calves outside a bit of hay this evening, if it gets any colder I'll bring them back in for a couple of days & ship out a few late calving cows for a few days.

Do young calves have to come back in when it turns wintry like this?

Will they survive with their mother for shelter

As long as they have shelter from the prevailing wind they should be ok.
Ours were racing around doing buck leaps in the snow earlier so not a bother on them.

Cold won't bother them, cold and wet might though.

It's gone bitter cold here today, some heavy showers of hailstones. It was so loud during milking, the b!tch that normally kicks off her cluster forgot to do it:rolleyes:
