Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Decided I'd start my own thread here just to have something to read over if my current attempt fails. :) I'm now 1 week and 3 days off the smokes and I feel great. I'm using a nicorette inhaler as an aid, and I have to say its probably the best item I've bought in a long time. I had my doubts at first after trying those rotten chewing gums, but after using it the first 3 days I got very used to it.

I'm also using the stopsmoking ticker quite a lot, just to keep my motivation going. Today it stands as follows:

You quit 1 week, 3 days, 8 hours, 29 minutes & 1 second ago. You have *not* smoked 269 cigs, saved EUR 102 and added 22.42 hours to your life. :D

That 22 hours is quite a feeling of achievement...I've actually put time back on to my life instead of wasting it away with fags! On a health note, my sense of smell and taste have really kicked back in, and I can now wake up in the mornings normally, without choking for 10 minutes straight.

So far its looking good, and I'm pretty confident I can get off them for good this time. My last attempt was a very uncomfortable cold turkey, which lasted 28 days - that was straight off the fags with no NRT. My target this time is 30 days, after which I'll start winding down the use of the inhaler. Overall, I'm hoping to be nicotine free by christmas. :)

Well done, you've done really well.

    I quit 2 weeks, 2 days ago. Havn't smoked 320 + cigs & saved EUR 129.

    Its all worth it x
