Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I’m thinking about possibly moving to a new role in a different area in work, with my managers agreement.
My manager has suggested I informally reach out to the hiring manager to get a better feeling if the role is a fit for me and introduce myself. Is this a good idea, I’m unsure of it’s the right approach so looking for some advice.

Title should say Job Application. I can’t edit

Yes, it is a good idea. Your manager has likely already warned the hiring manager that you will be doing this.

I was thinking maybe a chat with the recruiter who is internal also first?

I think I’ll approach the recruiter first to see if it’s the right fit for me

    Think it's a good idea.
You could also use it to try to figure out what types of things you'd be asked in the interview based on what they say is important to the role
    Best of luck with it.

Do you think go to the recruiter or hiring manager?

Your manager has told you to yo go to the hiring manager.

The recruiter is just a HR person who applies the process. The hiring manager is the one who knows what the actual job is like.
