Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not a request but just a note of thanks to Fiona and mick for first of all going above and beyond in getting my bed to me in short notice and second of all for really following it up when there was a problem with the courier.

If anyone is looking at this thread and unsure, don’t be. Fantastic service and a lovely bed too.

    Another happy customer.

    Hi 1997

We have Sealy Posturpedic Superking mattresses from 399 euro. Nice Silentnight fabric heeadboards in superking from 99 euro. Single mattresses start from 65 euro but they are just budget. You probably need something better quality.

    Thanks

    Hi Sasso

We don't stock Respa but we do have a Platinum 2000 pocket but not by Respa.

You will find quite a few manufacturers have a Platinum mattresses in some shape or form. We don't promote pillow top mattresses as you can't turn them and can be problematic by times as many eventually dip and form a ridge or body impression in them. Manufacturers tend to say that this is normal but anyone that experienced this was never happy about it as they lose their comfort ability over time.. We can order in pillow top models but don't keep as regular stock.

Our Platinum 2000 comes in both tufted and quilted form. You can have as a turn free or as a turn mattress where it has fillings on both sides. 2000 full size pocket springs. They have a 5 Year Warranty and we deal with the warranty ourselves so you don't have to wait weeks or months in some cases for a manufacturer rep to come out to you. Price is normally 749 euro but will do you a discount if getting two of them.

If you want pillow tops I could probably pick you up a couple of similar to Respa but in Silentnight pocket models for about 350 each but they would only have a one year guarantee on them.

Give us a call on 043 3345488/ 3341895 or mobile 086 8356888. We are closed tomorrow as it's a Bank holiday but mobile will be on.

    Thanks

    Hi Bigmickey team,

Wife and I had twins about 7 months ago so the double bed is getting a little small if they need to come in with us!

Looking for a 5ft King with base and headboard (grey) - saw Irish Beds Ruby Memory Foam Set on website - is this a popular mattress? Budget is about 500 and open to suggestions.

Based in Cork so can't try it out in the shop.

    Thanks

    Hi fat bloke

One of our biggest sellers is The Vogue Ortho. We have sold thousands of these without any issues. 299 euro for base and mattress. Have sinle beds from 149 euro but The Vogue would be very good quality for that price.

    Thanks

    Hi there

The Diamond 2000 is still our biggest seller. It's classed med/firm . Next to that is the Platunum 2000. This one had a memory top on it and is a little firmer. Both are nice mattresses. They both have the same spring unit in them, just different fillings. Give a call to discuss 043 3341895 / 086 8356888 or pm us your number and we will call you.

Do you do zip and link mattresses? We're thinking of getting a superking bed soon and think we'll have problems getting the mattress up the stairs.

Is there a topper to go on top so you don't notice the zip?

    Hi Wheety

WE have them in stock in many models and in King and Superking. You dont really feel the zip so you may not need a topper.

    Thanks

Hi Mick. Looking to get a new mattress. Have a lovely memory foam one from the Natural Sleep Company but unfortunately find it too hot. So basically looking for a mattress with the level of comfort of a memory foam but not memory foam. What would you advise? Thanks.

    Hi angeline

Natural latex would be worth having a look at. It will keep you cool and feels like memory foam. We have a few different one in stock

    Hi Mick,

Looking for a superking sized mattress, memory foam as thick as possible (the current one we have is 12" thick and served us well for 8 years on the old bed frame).

I move a lot when asleep so looking for something with minimal movement also.

    Recommend anything?

Our Irish Beds Platinum 2000 model has a full 2000 pocket spring unit in it with 50mm of Kaymed memory foam. It's 12 inch deep and now twin sided so you can turn it. There is a 5 year warranty on them . We have a customer that is a chiropractor that has this mattress for around 3 years and swears by it. It comes in both quilted and tufted also. Superking is 899 euro with us but close to 2000 in some big name shops.

    Thanks

    Hi Mick,

I am looking for firm double mattress, similar to https://www.ikea.com/ie/en/p/hidrasund-pocket-sprung-mattress-firm-natural-20372711/ . Could you recommend something from your range? It should be very good quality, as my partner has hip and back issues.
Unfortunately, we don't drive, do you still have mobile company, so he can try some of the mattresses closer to home? Based in south Dublin.

Thank you so much in advance.

    Hi BigMickey,
We have a 14 month old Kaymed instant response gel 2500 5ft mattress which is a rotatable memory foam mattress. This is actually a replacement as the first one sagged so much, so it's actually less than a year old. The sagging is happening again with this one although to a lesser extent. The mattress itself is just far too soft.

We are looking for a medium/firm or firm king size mattress. We don't want memory foam but would like a good quality mattress with good support. The mattress will need to go on a bed frame and not a divan.

    What would recommend? Many thanks.

    Hi.
Looking for a small double ( 4 foot ). Wooden bed only, not metal. The finish can be natural wood or painted ( cream maybe ). No end also as the occupant is tall. Must be solid and would prefer a centre bar to support the mattress. Need a hard wearing medium to firm quality mattress to go with the bed.
    Your suggestions appreciated.

    Hi bobgaf

Would a good quality wooden divan (fabric covered) suit as these are quite strong and would out cheaper. They also don't have an end. Very good quality models for 199 euro. Many of the leading hotels get these from us and they last a long time. If not they there are loads of 4ft frames on our website. Bear in mind that a 4ft frame will take up 4ft 6in of floor space which is the size of a full double bed. Hope this helps.

    Thanks
