Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi there,
I'm searching for a present for my boyfriend, an absolute history nut. I want to get him an interesting book on either Viatman, Thailand, Laos or Australia. Any ideas?

With regards to Australian colonial history, I would recommend 'Twelve Australian Battles'; not sure who the author/editor is but I used it for a course on Australian history and it really opened my eyes to the treatment of the natives by the incomers.

A fatal shore - did it in college, very interesting, expecially in regard to British reasoning about starting a colony in New south Wales
