At best it will be BOS and JFK

If things get interesting EI could fill the gap left by TC and Virgin and fly to MCO, no shortage of A330's

Orlando and Florida in general is a strong market from the UK

Does anyone know why EI-LRA has been out of action for over a week? Is it in maintenance.

Heard its having an ACT Tank installed

This will be interesting, I wonder will emerald Essentially take over the stobart ops and fleet. I wonder will there be regional jets in the next scope agreement

I had previously read that TC had 500K seats a year out of Manchester. So not a small market niche.

The report says 4 aircraft. I can see it starting with 2 then scaling up if successful.

They have applied for a UK AOC

They already had one for the 2002-2006 LGW operation (as well as the base in BFS/BHD) Not sure if it has lapsed or remains in place.

EDIT; Cabin crew in the LGW were employed by "Aer Lingus UK".
That could be where I'm getting that idea of a UK AOC.

BFS/BHD LGW and Little Red were all operated under the Irish AOC.
I'm not aware of Aer Lingus ever holding a UK AOC.
The attempt to get a UK AOC through Astraeus back in the day was abandoned.

EI will be operating a charter flight this coming Wednesday 18/11 to Beirut, Lebanon.

I wonder why they're running it as a red-eye. Seems an odd choice on the face of it when you could easily go daytime both ways and there are plenty of spare frames.

I develop Superior Solitaire when I'm not procrastinating on boards.ie.

Is this for the UN? I know there's a unit handover due soon.

Wonder how quick we will see changes, current situation kinda limits the benefits.

The MAN S21 initial slot co ord is out on ACL website. On that it says EI to base 1 A330 and 3 LR in MAN. (Slot permitted of course) Does anyone know what way DUB and SNN (?) will be next summer? The LR looked to be divided between them?

DUB report is also out and says new service to BJV with EI.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,142 ✭✭✭goingnowhere

There are 4 more LR's due by next Summer

Anyone know for sure whether EI-LAX is being scrapped or stored in the States in the coming days? I'm reading both elsewhere online. I wouldn't have thought they'd bother covering up the windows in recent days if she's to be scrapped, unless they don't intend to recover the interior for some time.

I would have thought that they wouldn't have bothered covering the windows if they're planning on flying it across the Atlantic. The covering would need to be removed before it can fly.

Of any A330-200 to meet its end LAX is first on the list, it is the oldest and has had a fair few knocks and lumps taken out of her over the years. But LAX had a major check in March so it may outlive others (they had to fly a A320 to Bordeaux to deliver a crew to fly back)

Looks like long term storage, possibly swapping parts with plenty of time with near overhaul/end of life bits, no point having a recently overhauled CF6 sitting in the cold

Beirut is a go for tonight.
