Built in gas oven and grill

Hi all,

Not too sure if I will get an answer here or not, but I am struggling to find a built-in gas and oven unit. Do they not make them anymore? We have in the parents’ house a 30-year-old built in gas oven and grill it is at eye level and it is fantastic like brand new still.

I want to get one now for my kitchen but where to get it?

Had the same scenario a couple of years ago.

We bought that model with the electric grill as we were replacing a double gas oven.

It works reasonably well.

Don't think there's a new gas grill unit in the country.

I wonder why this is

I wouldn't mind purchasing a second hand one if I could find one but I cant.

Ok so take a look here- I’m pretty sure the single Smeg gas oven is gas grill also- I know it’s UK but if you go to the likes of DID with the product code they’ll order it for you

PS- a few years ago I ordered a whole rake of new white goods- none were “on sale” in stores- they were all special orders- there’s lots more white goods available than just what stores are offering- all you need is the product code and find an Irish retailer who stocks that brand- they’ll order it in for you- most of the time the product is simply shipped in from UK- however you may have to wait on a China delivery depending on availability which normally takes about 6 weeks. Also look at the manufacturer websites- they’ll have their full product offerings there- do you know the make of your current oven?

The sale of gas cookers has virtually dwindled due to all appliances being needing to be commissioned by reg gas installers which puts an additional cost to the purchase price of the appliance. I know you are looking for a built in gas oven but you might like to have a look in at the catering section of this auction site www. auctionxchange.ie a lot of sturdy equipment often for sale here
