Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all any of you ever used this site to make a purchase. I'm looking at buying a frame from them for a self build winter project, and their prices are far cheaper than any I can find on any other site. The only problem is that they state that their prices are without tax,(vat) and that the buyer may have to pay a fee to customs in their own country. If I were caught to pay this fee to Irish customs, it may even work out more expensive than purchasing at home.

    They're a reputable site by all accounts. But yes, since they are based in Switzerland, you'll be liable for import duty and VAT on anything you get shipped here.

    You'll find the rate of duty on the Taric database here http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/customs/customs_duties/tariff_aspects/customs_tariff/index_en.htm.

    They'll charge duty on the total cost, i.e. item cost plus delivery charge. VAT will then be levied on that total amount.

    Mmm. Seems like a minefield to me. Might be easier and less hassle to buy at home, although more expensive. Thanks for your help though.

    My rule of thumb when buying outside the EU is to work out the price plus taxes in advance and then expect that is what I'm going to pay for it. If customs don't pick it up, it's a bonus, but I always assume they will.
