Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i had this problem as well and i found the solution, as long as its not rusted or siezed clean the link well and dry it then squeeze it between your fore finger and thumb and slide your fingers, works for me every time

I remove chains a lot on my mountain bikes for cleaning and changing wheels and got sick of fighting with quick links so I bought one of these ..... sorted!

Is it a 10 speed chain? Iirc the 10 speed sram power links aren't reusable.

No 9 speed, Trek 7.5FX, assume thats' SRAM...

Thanks for all replies. Will give the fingers a go again and if not, invest in the tool.. it irks having to spend on a tool I won't use a lot... but hey. guess I gotta..

    Thanks again.

It's a lot easier to remove the link if there is no tension on the chain - best achieved by removing the rear wheel!

I use wipperman connex links. Simple to remove.

Needle nose pliers if you have one, in principle its the same thing as what C3PO posted.
