Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The New Lidl will open in the same building where the new Jurys Hotel just opened. In fact, the whole complex was more or less built for Lidl. The only reason for the hotel was, that they couldn`t get planning permission without it.

I know it from a very good friend who works in Senior Mangment of Lidl Ireland (Lidl Ireland Managment, and not Store Managment). So far he has always been spot on with his informations. Not sure though, how many of them they will stock. I guess about 30.

    dsab,

I rang Lidl HQ in Newbridge today enquiring about the new store in Parnell St. I was told that I must be mistaken and confusing it with the Aldi store.

Very curious !! Whats the big secret?

The person you talked to must have been smoking or new. It`s not a secret at all. While they were building the complex, they even had big signs up there stating that Lidl was moving in.

Had a look at google for some links, and found these older ones:

Appears its the 27th, not the 25th. Haven't seen any sign of the 30% off though, any idea if it'll be advertised beforehand or is it just supposed to be a surprise?

    Any update on this?

Contacted Lidl again today and this time they did confirm that the Parnell Store will open on Thursday 25th and that there will be a laptop on offer at a reduced price. Unfortunately she did not know as yet the price or the quantity available. She suggested I phone back on Tuesday.

I'd reckon DSAB's contact is on the ball here.

what does the insurance that comes with the laptop cover? is it extra or included in the price? and how do you claim on it ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,442 ✭✭✭embraer170

Any laptop bag with this on Thursday?

I don't think there is insurance with LIDL laptops, just a 3 year pickup warranty (which is brilliant given most computers etc. only come with 1 year)

There are presently reports of a normal PC for €899. Anyone know if this is replacing the laptop or will they have both?

Tried ringing them today but all I got was 'Please leave us your name and number.. we are open between 9:00 and 17:00'... yet I was calling them within that period.

There is only a PC for sale for 899 (previously 1199). Advertised in Evening Herald yesterday.

    Also a 20GB MP3 player for 199 (previously 299).

    & a 14inch TV for some riduciously small price I can't remember.

See link to spec of PC for 899 at Lidl Moore St tomorrow below. Ticket system in place so you'll have to arrive early me thinks!

So the reports of the laptop being on sale with a 30% reduction were false?
