Retractable Roof Canopy

This is a project I have been putting off for a few years but I plan on doing in the New Year so looking at options. We have a large out door area with a table etc which we don't really use. But my concern was would it last in the lovely Irish weather, especially are we are in countryside with our garden open to fields so we can get gusty wind. Also house is bungalow so the angle would more or less be level/

I seen the following and it might be a better option. Just wondering has anyone done similar?

But whats the use case?

Sun prevention or using the area in inclement weather .

Exactly, the second one says it's only shower resistant

Use case, sorry. During sunny days kids sit out and it would be sun protection, the current parasol is not great

Then for ourselves if sunny we would retract in evening to sit out. Or if light rain then we could sit out during the summer. Even hoping to have ability to sit out with heavy showers!! not torrential rain or anything like that

Even with a little wind you would be soaked under one of those, On a calm day the rain will fall straight down and you maybe ok,

Sorry I don’t mean that exact one, something similar...or is the standard awning which retracts better
