Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They have tweeted a few things over the past few weeks alright. But that’s not the issue, we know they’re coming here next Summer. The only question is where?

And I’d prefer to wait for something more concrete than someone knows someone who works in Ticketmaster said something or it’s being discussed on some other message board by people who have the exact same zero knowledge of anything definite.

if it helps i have a great source in ticketmaster who hasn't heard a word of it

It may come to pass yet of course, but it's hilarious how much legs this story has gotten from anonymous people quoting other anonymous people on Internet message boards.

No way Judas Priest will be at Slane, people need to check themselves. It’s not 1985 !!

i wonder will all the big announcements go quiet now and then in December we will see Metallica and Bon Jovi etc being put on sale so the promoter then gets the ticket sales surge due to Christmas presents?

  • Registered Users Posts: 62 ✭✭Mondo44

I think Metallica are announcing their European dates in mid September

If they had any sense they will put Garth Brooks tickets on sale for the Xmas market if he is playing here next year. Not saying he is

The trending band/act of the day whoever that may be will surely try to capitalise on the Xmas market no doubt

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,479 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Yeah Metallica stated September for the announcement. Not to say it can't change, but it'd be lousy if they did that

Metallica are playing Ireland this Summer, from MCD's Facebook posts, to Lars saying so in interviews, we know that much.

Their own forum is saying it's Croke park with Ghost as support.

    Now we wait.

not putting any truth in it, but go to https://forums.metallica.com/ and the European tour thread, Croke Park being said for past few weeks..
Personally I think Slane or Aviva is more likely, but thats the internet

Can't see where they could fit in a date sadly

Unless there coming back in the summer. Slash loves his touring

Well if there's no Dublin on this leg, it might be a good idea to head to England...

I'd say they'll come here, maybe what's been announced is just the beginning, Myles is gonna be a busy fella next year what with touring Living The Dream with Slash & The Conspirators, then there's the new Alter Bridge....

What if and I'm purely speculating here, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators to tour with Metallica?

Fingers crossed for Smashing Pumpkins. One of only a few left on my bucket list. But not sure they've played Ireland since the time that young girl so sadly died at one of their gigs some years ago.

Hey hey I'm running a campaign (very informal and casually) to build up support to get them back to Ireland in 2019! Any and every help is needed to drum up support to get the likes of MCD & Aiken to try book them.

If you could sign and share the below I plan to try get a few thousand and fire it off to the 2 above mentioned and see what happens.

*EDIT - Cannot post link as new member :-) - Search change.org.. ill be back after im not new to link it up!

A random poster on the internet :D

Metallica and Judas Priest on the bill according to all the "in the know" people on boards.

Loads of sources here have already confirmed it. One fella knows someone high up in Ticketmaster, he confirmed it.

Another fella can't even tell us who his sources are, it's so commercially sensitive, but he's confirmed it too.

Someone else posted on another forum about it and then used that forum as his source, he's confirmed it too.

We even had one fella tell us hotel prices at Slane were through the roof im those dates (they werent), but he's confirmed it too.

my guess is 2 dates for Slane

One Coldplay and one Metallica, too quite to be Garth Brooks, could be Ed Sheeran and the likes too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,539 ✭✭✭ghostdancer

Sheeran and Coldplay are unlikely to be touring next summer.

ah I hate the "watch this space" ****eology. either tell us or don't.

in any given year there'll be 3 Croke Park dates, more for the Aviva and RHK, the iveagh gardens, marley park, malahide castle and now páirc uí chaoimh has to start paying for itself too. of course there's going to be outdoor gigs

I wonder would the Slane crowd be decent enough for the undercard of metal tinged rock acts Metallica would bring. 80,000 is Download UK size, and I don't think there's that many people in Ireland that are going to rock out to say, Ghost, who I'd love to see.

Metal festivals are the best. Sound people, genuine mix of everyone from 7 to 70 and nobody going on about chakras or yokes. Just can't see it translating to Slane! Metallica are obviously huge and have not played Ireland in years so I wouldn't be worried about the size of the crowd, per say.

Totally agree, i just don't see Slane working out for Metallica....

Would love to see Shinedown support Metallica. They supported Maiden in the 3 arena, and they were brilliant when they played the main stage at Download on Sunday this year.
