Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bird in the chimney of my stove - what to do

We have a stove in the living room, with a metal chimney that is visible for about 1-2 feet above the stove (then disappears into stonework).
Since yesterday there has been a lot of noise coming from it, which i can only guess must be a bird. I presume it came down the chimney and now cannot get out.
I would like to help it, but short of getting somebody to take out the chimney i have no idea how.
    Two questions:
    - Is there any relatively easy way that i can get it out of there?
    - If not, and it dies in there, will it leave a terrible smell and will it be impossible to light a fire there afterwards?

All grand. I opened the chimney and it flew into the fireplace (why didn’t I think of that before I made the post!). Then I let it out the window.
