Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ok, is it just me (and i know its really trivial!), or does anyone else get really annoyed when people say things like, "i gave it 110%", or "he's committed 1000%"? That defeats the whole purpose, as then surely you could say 1 million per cent or 1 billion per cent. i just think 100% is 100% and thats the most per cent that can be part of anything. anyone else get annoyed about that???

doesnt bother me that much, but if someone has a tendancy to use those phrases a lot, that bugs me! its a common enough saying though so i dont pass much remarks

Have you never done maths or accountancy or anything else that involves numbers? Figures are always expressed in terms of % over the 100.

    Just thinking about this.....
Who is to say 100% is all you can give?
It may be all you can give at a current time, but through training etc... you may be able to give more at a later date.
For example... an athlete can well say "I'm gonna give 110%" when being interviewed for a race if they have now adopted a new training regime where they see a decrease in their times from the previous race and now think they can go faster.
It depends what the base setting is...

personally I don't think it should be used unless somebody succeeds while doing lasting damage to themselves.

:v: <- he just hasn't been the same since his wife left.
