Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lovely get! I never knew the Japanese MD2's had a sliding power switch...thought they were push buttons like the US/EU versions

I was stunned at how well it was looked after to be honest, even the box is immaculate.

You get that a lot when buying games/consoles from Japan...they really look after their stuff.

Finally got a clean one of these :) I think that's my home computer collection now complete (apart for the ridiculously expensive stuff).

Wow, I haven't used one of those since 92!
The hospital I was training in decided to replace their BBC:B machines, while I suggested Amiga 1200's they went with Archimedes', and a number of them too, must have cost a fortune!

You know you buy too many retro games when you have to get a barcode scanner to help you input them into your collection database software :)
It's a decent barcode scanner actually, bluetooth/USB, all the good stuff :)

This arrived this morning, the XCAPTURE-1 from Micomsoft (of XRGB fame). Sailed through customs thanks to the "Friendly" customs declaration that Solaris offer :)
It's not retro in and of itself, but its going into the loop with my XRGB Mini Framemeister for capturing whatever its displaying/processing (retro consoles or modern).

Kind of pricey, but the results from what I've seen are worth it.

Courtesy of Corholio I now own a lovely copy of the Metal Slug compilation for the PS2 and Wonderful 101 for the WiiU.

Courtesy of Mrs Ciderman, I now also own a gaming chair.... a thing I never knew I needed.... still not certain on that one.....
But still, it's comfortable, and will live amongst the non-retro games to ease the ache of fancy modern videogames and all their nonsense.

Well, not to be a nit picker but
[nit picker mode engaged] It's not a PS One, just a PS... [/nit picker mode disengaged]

Nevertheless, there's nothing quite like that boot up sound to cheer a fella up, probably cheer a lassie up too!

It's a bit like the effect the Windows 95 boot music has on me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,783 ✭✭✭eddhorse

Yes sorry the PSone is the small white one.

    Either way free is free.

Also that Windows 95 sound is amazing, insta-nostalgia

Sort of a retro get. Protector for the WiiU Gamepad in Legend of Zelda style. 40% off on the Nintendo store so thought why not. Hori as well.

Do they protect the screen at all?

Also, does anyone have a link to a decent protector case for a 3ds XL?

I'm not sure if you mean a case around the DS or a case like a bag lol.
I'm using a Phoenix Wright one I pre-ordered and still using it 2 years on, I dunno how much it actually protects, it's like metal. There's nice ones often on Play Asia, search LL I think instead of XL.
    Sorry that's wasn't really helpful.

An Everdrive 64 V3 direct from Krikzz.

Got a couple of Wizard stools for the cab(they are a lot stronger feeling than I thought!). Will probably get a pink one so the stools match the cab button/stick colour scheme when its in stock.

How long did it take the everdrive to arrive? I've been waiting a while for mine but understand it takes a while to ship from the Ukraine.

Takes a couple of weeks usually, which isn't bad for post from Ukraine (I send and receive a lot from there).

Where did you get the stools, are they too tall?

They look too tall in that pic, but are perfect for me. I'm 5 foot 10 and the height seems bang on for playing on the cab. I usually bring in a kitchen chair anyway if I'm going to play for hours as back support is nice :)

Got them from here as the price was right. Had to chase them up as delivery was slow, but they got here in the end.

a wizards stool is pointy at one end!

It's always a good time to post this one
    Bristol-stool-chart1.jpg

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,885 ✭✭✭Steve X2

For those that haven't seen these stools before, the top comes off and it's hollow to allow for storage. I'm thinking bags of ice and maybe a few Pale Ales :)
Also handy to butt cool during intense gaming sessions :D

    Edit:
After seeing the above chart, it might also work as a toilet I guess.

I know you can get ips patches for the roms that does it and some gameshark type codes for some games.

Just realised that the PS3 dev yolk I got uses a special dev controller that doesn't work with the regular ps3 - which didn't come with my one

Fired off an email to the guy selling them and he found one thank feck. That would have been quite the expensive paperweight!
