Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cold / Flu - break from training?

    Hi All,

I'm doing my FIRST Dublin City Marathon in a few weeks.

Aim = to finish. Trying to follow the Hal Hidgon Novice program.
Honestly - I'm a few weeks behind - missed a good few of my midweek runs - work stuff etc.

My longest LSR was 18 miles last weekend.

I've a cold / flu (not swine :)) with the past 4-5 days - so no runs last 2 evening.
Feeling a good bit better today, thinking of going for a run tonight.

So - what do experienced / seasoned runners recommend?

    Should I wait a few more days - be doubly-sure I'm 100% before re-starting?
Anxious that I don't miss any more training (time is running out to Oct 26th), but don't want to start too early and get sicky again.

I know this probably very specific to the individual - but I'd love to hear recommendations from experienced runners.

Rule of Thumb - Sick = X days break from training?

    Thanks
