Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

College car park. Had to bring mam to the train station this morning so I said I’d come straight in instead of going home. It was sleeting here on the way to college

Got a group presentation at 11 and I can’t wait for it to be over

Couchside with a snotty nose and runny eyes. Counting the hours to work so I can get my cappuccino on the way. I'm far too lazy to go out and get one now :p

In the kitchen. I've finally opened up the new Airfryer and I'm experimenting today. Frozen chips from Iceland took 11 mins and tasted fine. Gonna try fresh sausages next and maybe a fresh chicken fillet.

    Food tasters needed!:D

The time change affected me in a good way. Sleeping really well. Lots of energy . Excited , summer feels promising . Trying to hold tight to the feeling .

I've made herbal /floral concoctions for friends with sore muscles, from my own garden , I dried and infused the ingredients over the winter..elderflowers will open this month so I will make champagne .

Going to watch the garden birds with my tea while the sun is out. It's been changeable today . Birds are dealing with the aphids on my roses so I won't need to use harsh chemicals, and the birds get some lunch . Nature is class like that .

    Interesting idea!

ah well, I broke into my emergency fuel stocks, all 3/.4 bag of turf and a bucket of coal so we are warmer now..hot soup... sun patchy on the window warms the place wondrously fast. Embers all aglow. Must be easing you would think as three boy cats are out there rolling around on the grass .... not according to met.ie . That wind is like icy breath.

Students union (as per :p) just had my lunch and I think I’ll get back to a bit more study. Doing an essay on Waiting for Godot, so in taking a break from looking for sources for my essay, I decided to watch the play, so I think I’ll continue that

Inside to get the fire lit. It threatened all kinds of weather today but only skiffs of rain, hail and snow for a few minutes at a time. Spent the afternoon sorting fishing flies and other gear in the garage, with the doors open and sun shining in - most of the time.

Just realised all the library books have been read, so that's tomorrow's walking route decided.

Is the old city centre airport in Dakar still active? I thought all operations had moved to the new Blaise Diagne International Airport a few years ago.

At my desk at work, waiting for the rain to clear.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,270 ✭✭✭✭smurfjed

It is active for VIP flights, the place was packed last night due to the new Presidential appointment, so we had to come to Blaise, now going back to get our people. Awesome low level flights in a jet, about 10 minutes each way.

Had hoped that we would stay until tomorrow but alas it didn't happen.

@ Smurf Is it true that Dakar time zonewise is an hour after Ireland even though its further east than London ?

I'm home-side. Looks like I've managed to survive yet another attempt by my GP to put me down

I have fallen in love today. A love that was nurtured in a humble kitchen. It wasn't love at first sight. When I first set eyes on her, I admired her looks. I was filled with hope. But I needed to be sure. I needed to know what made her tick. I ultimately needed to know if we were the right fit for each other. Could we make magic together? I know the answer now. We can make magic together. We can bring joy to others by being together. Our partnerships, our union, will make the lives of others better. The wonder of it all.

I am so happy that I met my Air Fryer.:D

Is it not 15 or more degrees west, thus the hour behind us?

Watching RTE News; Lord but they are repetitive!

Looking at some of the time zone maps, I think you might me right also looks like Mali and Ghana are in the same timezone as Senegal.

Canaries are in same timezone as Ireland ( I think ) and are ( probably ?) further west than Dakar - yet Dakar is an hour behind Las Palmas

( I'm far from clear in the old head so this may be a load of tripe :( )

I'm listening to BBC Radio 4 news - they are desperate to fill in the time - Isnt it time someone found the OFF switch for the transmitters ? :D

I got very drunk on holiday years ago and got Tweety Pie on my arse. Don't regret it, but he has put on a little weight since.
