Hmmm, including return times I don't see how it can be done in less than 19 mins....Guess I don't get to work for Microsoft....
There's always a silver lining to being shtoopid.

I know, but taking the simple, and obviously wrong approach.
    Bono holds the torch.

    Bono + Larry = 10 over + 1 back = 11
    Bono + Adam = 5 Over + 1 back = 6
    Bono + Edge = 2 over = 2

    Total 19.

    well
im going to try a guess at this smile.gif

    bono + Edge = 2 mins
bono back over = 1 min
bono gives flashlight to adam and larry
adam and larry = 10 mins
then EDGE goes back over = 2 mins
and edge brings bono back with him = 2 mins

    therefore : 2 + 1 + 10 + 2 + 2 = 17 mins

you know its NOT tough being this good,

    Oh! the shame!
But why can't they just RUN across the bridge??? if Larry can walk it 10, surely he can run it in less??? if not, he doesn't deserve to get across.

    ... i was close smile.gif

A cut and paste from an E-Mail I got. Took me 11 mins to work this out. In hindsight, the answer is easy. smile.gif

The following puzzle is one of the best I've ever seen. If you
haven't seen it before and you like this sort of thing it would
be worth your while giving it a go. I must reiterate though
what the puzzle says: there is absolutely no trick whatsoever
in solving it. There is no play on words, no impossible-to-find
solution, no incorrect information, and nothing left out to
prevent you solving it. It does not involve a person travelling
on someone else's back, a teleporter, or the break-up of the
band (you'll see what I mean when you read the puzzle) - it's
a completely straightforward question. I was so sure that it
wasn't possible to solve - that a mistake had been made in
the puzzle question - that I had to consult someone else for
the solution, so you can be assured that there _is_ a
solution, and that it's perfectly logical.
There are no tricks, this is a straight forward problem.
Allegedly, this is one of the questions for potential Microsoft
employees. I must warn you, you can really get caught up
trying to solve this problem. Reportedly, one guy solved it
by writing a C program, although that took him 37 minutes to
develop (compiled and ran on the 1st try though). Another guy
    solved it in three minutes.
A group of 50, at Motorola, couldn't figure it out at all.

See how long it takes you.

    Here we go...

U2 has a concert that starts in 17 minutes and they must all
cross a bridge to get there. All four men begin on the same side
of the bridge. You must help them across to the other side.
    It is night.

    (1) There is one flashlight.
    (2) A maximum of two people can cross at one time.
    (3) Any party who crosses, either 1 or 2 people, must have the
    flashlight with them.
    (4) The flashlight must be walked back and forth, it cannot be
    thrown, etc.
    (5) Each band member walks at a different speed. A pair must
walk together at the rate of the slower man's pace:

Bono: - 1 minute to cross
Edge: - 2 minutes to cross

Adam: - 5 minutes to cross
Larry: - 10 minutes to cross

For example: if Bono and Larry walk across first, 10 minutes
have elapsed when they get to the other side of the bridge.
If Larry then returns with the flashlight, a total of 20 minutes
have passed and you have failed the mission.

Note: There is no trick behind this. It is the simple movement
of resources in the appropriate order. There are two known
    answers to this problem.
This is based on a question that Microsoft gives to all
    prospective employees.
Note: Microsoft expects you to answer this question in under 5
    minutes!

    Hail To The King, Baby.

    Jaden.
