Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

bloom was as annoying as ever.depp and [surprisingly] knightly were brillant.

Which Keira Knightly were you watching? The one taht looked like Keith Richards?

The only reason I stayed in watchin it so long was becuase of Johnny Depp, although they spent too much time on keira knightly who was rubbish, and not enough time on Cap. Sparrow!
The first one was excellent, second one was a bit of a let down and this one was totally complicated and pointless.
It's supposed to be a kid's movie and yet I don't know any child who would have a clue as to whats goin on in it. I'm 25 and spent most of the film goin "huh"?

Finally went to see this and enjoyed it moderately. Like the Matrix 3, if this was a new franchise people might be a bit more forgiving. But from a franchise like this, the public expects better, and on that level is indeed a disapointment.
But more importantly - where the hell were the jokes?

I think you've hit the nail on the head there.

According to the trivia on imdb.com, At Land's End started filming without a finished script. That can hardly be a good sign, can it?

The DVD extras for pirates of the carribean 2 are great and they show ye exactly why the two sequels were not as good as the first. As someone said the first script had a long time to be refined but this also meant that it was, in terms of the writing, a complete story. It wasn't meant to be extended into further films.

So the writers were busy trying to sh!t out scripts as fast as possible while the movies were being produced. The director and producers had to come up with filler scenes because the scripts were so flimsy.

It's one thing I don't like about hollywood. The writers said they were basically trying to fill pages in time for production, I doubt that sort of approach would often result in a great script.

If we were given a mess like this as the first movie, there wouldn't have been two more.

Am I again missing something - but didn't bloom get his one day on land at the end before the credits rolled - the bit with him and Knightly on the beach playing hide the sausage?

    Okay, my quick review-

I had a very sneaky suspicion that Gore Verbinski might pull it out of the bag for this movie. Dead Man's Chest was a mess, but it had the difficult task of bridging two movies. This was the chance the director had to pull off quite a coup. Instead, we're left with yet another incoherent, sloppy mess of a film. A film bogged down by an unnecessarily weighty script, characters whose motivations make no sense, performances that are for the most part appalling and a final battle that is absolutely anti-climactic.

Full review is on my site.
