Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I thought that was the normal price for the boyles gin.

They did have a litre bottle at that price over the Christmas, so possibly a misprint.

That's definitely the regular price for 700ml of Boyle's. We buy it regularly

20 Bottles Coors light 20 Euro in Centra Until 11.04.21

Thanks for that. Any recommendations from the range?

Edit: never mind, I thought it was full cases of each beer, didn't spot the mix n match ones til I went back.

I got the mix/match box as well... Some really tasty stuff in there, I recommend the Kingdom or the Extra Pale

    SuperValu in killester

I started reading your post and was all excited to tell stories about my local SV and their pricing being all over the shop. Turns out it's the same branch! They're a nightmare for this crap in Killester. It's the only place I insist on getting the receipt and checking it before leaving the shop. I've a couple of stories of putting managers in their place, but not really suitable for the bargains thread. Even managed to wrangle a €50 gift card out of them when I reported one fella's behaviour.

Yes, the wheat beer was pretty good too, though there's plenty of sediment in the bottom. Need to agitate it a little to get the full flavour.

In bargain news, the O'Brien's gin sale is still on. The Malfy blood orange flavour is all gone, which is a pity as its one of the nicest gins I've ever had. The pink one is still available for €29 though. The Beefeater blood orange is a nice substitute for the Malfy one.

Hop House 8x50cl can packs are €8.40 in my local Tesco (Tralee Manor). Marked as clearance.

Coming up as €14 on the Tesco app so may be store specific.

Just bought 12 x 8 packs in my local Tesco, €8.40 a pop.
Might flog them to the local teenagers down the river for €20 a pop tomorrow.

Peroni 660ml bottle €2.50 in Tesco

No sign of these in my local aldi (Ballinrobe, co.Mayo)
They had 2 crates of carlsberg I think for 24e but no sign of the Guinness at all or any floor space marked with the price for it or Heineken as you would expect if they were already sold out. Didn't notice Bud as wouldn't be something I would go for personally.

Did anyone actually get the Heineken slabs in Aldi for €24? And where?
    - Not in Aldis Limerick x 2
Or is just another bait & switch?

No Guinness in Aldi Clonee either.

No slabs, no signs for it even.

I hate this bs from them tbh. If it’s in your leaflet it should be on the floor.

I got two of them for 16 two weeks ago and they were not advertised as having any discount. Tesco can be bizarre sometimes with their promotions

There was one slab of Guinness in the Swords Aldi last night and was priced at €30, the same as Dunnes.

It is bull**** from Aldi. Lidl & Centra are also at it wholesale. And Supervalu too to a certain extent.
It's bait & switch, which in some countries is illegal, but the above supermarkets are shamelessly using it as a tactic here.
Tesco & Dunnes are the only ones that seem to have the stuff in stock when they advertise it.

Tesco & Dunnes are the only ones that seem to have the stuff in stock when they advertise it.

It's down to the store and location. SV were advertising a wine sale for €40 (Barao De Vilar) 6 bottles for 40 bucks, normally €89.99 in all their stores. It was hoovered up in Cork (Ballincollig shop was cleaned out in 4 days) and was still available nearly 2 weeks later in Ballybofey Co. Donegal.

Tesco regularly advertise Powers 3 swallows for €30 - but is simply not available in certain shops - in Cork anyway. The one in Wilton does carry it when on offer but never seen it in any other Tesco in Cork.

I think you just have to be smart and keep watching different shops for the different deals.
Keeping an eye on here does certainly help. But, I am not sure how the whole advertising thing is working with different shops - as in, they, (SV), had Powers 1 ltr for €25 and also had Powers 700ml for €25 at the same time - nothing advertised. That was all over the country too.
So, I am guessing that the shops are playing a bit of a grey area when it comes to advertising and deals.

    Totally agree.
I tried 3 supervalu's when they'd corona on special offer a couple of weeks ago.
I'd don't think 1.00 in the day is "too late" to be looking for special offers.

They even do it with washing powder.
They'd fairy washing powder on special, yet none on the shelves.
I asked a young lad to ask if they'd any "out the back" ( a black hole where staff go and never come back) or due in. He was obviously new because he innocently told me they'd a load of it but can't put it out til Thursday. Which was of course when the special was over.

Not a slab of Guinness in sight at Aldi Nutgrove on Thursday.Phoned customer service to see if there was stock elsewhere. Was told that the 24 pack was not showing on the c/s agent's stock check system so she could not help.I asked her for store phone numbers. Was told that they are not allowed give them to callers.Asked her could she call a store for me and check.No.Not allowed either.
Drove to Aldi Tallaght Cross and Aldi Belgard Rd.
    Quelle surprise.
    Guinnessless!

Picked up the Belgian Gift set for 10 this morning in Lidl Celbridge, it's supposed to be 16 per their leaflet. Could have been a mistake but I think I'll grab another now just in case.

Also they had all on the shelves despite the deal not supposed to be starting til the 15th..

Your man that's always shouting about "bait and switch" would have a field day with this. Is it "switch and bait" in this case?
