Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Please explain this though.

If she wasn't posting right wing stuff, why were people sending her vile messages? I don't follow.
SJWs demanded that she put her "pronouns" in her twitter profile.

She didn't want to do it, but after months of harassment she put "beep boop bop" as a joke.

That was it, that's what it all goes back to. She was declared transphobic and she began receiving vile messages on a daily basis, threats against her life, etc. Bots were used to bombard her with messages telling her to kill herself.

People react to bullying in different ways. Gina has a history of mental health problems incl self-harm.

    Nah!

She's getting called out on her sh*t and now you're doing mental gymnastics to use this to have a go at the "woke left". It doesn't wash i'm afraid.

Why was she targeted for no reason?
    Doesn’t seem likely.

Do you have a source for these claims?
Pretty sure random people can’t send you DMs on Twitter.

Gina Carano's family have casino money. Her keeping the Disney gig or not will have no real effect on her monetarily. Companies can make you tow the line when you need them, she doesn't.

She's likely been told numerous times, she'll be gone and lose her spin off if she keeps posting comparing herself to holocaust victims and previous posts about Jewish people controlling the world (a few months back I'm pretty sure she posted a Qanon themed meme that depicted Jewish people in this light but can't find it now). Apparently it was Jon Favreau constantly going to bat for her job was why she kept the gig this long. She kept posting because who knows, may be she believes it, maybe she doesn't, maybe she wants to get in on the politics grift instead of acting, who knows.

Conservative, wealthy family, a following, is a 'victim' in her eyes and good looking woman = countless landing zones for her. She's not going to disappear, she'll be on every grifters podcast and show over the next few months and then who knows what she does from there.

Edit: not sure if her post came from Qanon. It was a mural (which was criticised for it's anti-semitism) that was updated to show George Soros etc. Someone grabbed a screen shot of the post here.

There are likely very good people to stand behind that have been 'cancelled' by an online mob for very little. Gina Carano is not that person.

I think she probably does believe it. As mad as it sounds. Sure, Jon Voight put out a video after the election results saying the election was stolen. Then there are all the famous celebs who are anti-vaxers. It's mad shít altogether but somehow people get caught up in it. No idea how some of this stuff catches on.

I don't get it myself and most people I know don't get it, it's the loons online who just watch all the back and forth and then pick a side and pile in. You have conservatives losing their mind about the terror of socialism ripping the great USA apart. The man heading this socialist movement? Joe Biden! The most centrist (probably seen as more centre right in Europe), lets not rock the boat politician around!

Loads of celebrities were being bombarded in a trend (probably still are) to add their pronouns on their twitter bio. If you or your show or anything to do with you was in any way trending on twitter you can guarantee there are replies underneath saying add your pronouns. Her co star Pedro Pascal was being tweeted all the time to do it and he eventually updated his, she was constantly messaged about it but didn't want to. She wasn't targeted, Mandalorian was just trending regularly at the time so Pedro Pascal and her were obvious people to bombard about it. Same thing was going on with musicians, film stars, politicians.

The messages werent DM’s, just standard tweets calling her transphobic, a bitch, fat, to kill herself etc etc. When she added beep/bop/boop to her bio that obviously did her no favours and just escalated the whole thing, add in the other tweets she had about covid, anti maskers and political views and she was just pouring petrol on a fire.

As Alf Veedersane said, celebs are still people and people are idiots. Celebrities have a platform and a wider audience and should be more aware what they post is under constant scrutiny. Post stuff thats gonna offend people and make your employer look bad if they ignore it and its gonna bite you in the ass.

As I said in another thread............

She compared criticism of her conservative/right-wing political ideas to the persecution and systematic genocide of the Jewish population in Nazi Germany. She was insinuating that those steps taken to criticise her and others like her are akin to the first steps in the process that brain-washed a massive chunk of an entire generation of Germans that led to such atrocities.

This is after spending the past few months spreading, propagating and promoting right-wing conspiracy theories, including the QAnon theory that is literally rooted in anti-Semitism and is almost a mirror image of the kinds of lies and propaganda that was fed to people back then to lead to the darkest page in recent human history.

It's not a crime to have different political ideas, but if it was illegal to not understand irony then she would have been launched into space immediately.

Well he's out of the whiskey business (with likely a nice chunk of money). Maybe he'll be a little more active or more likely he'll buy another boat :pac:

Hold on, he bought the Black Forge last year and put a million into doing it up? I missed that, maybe he'll spend his days pulling pints and switching between RUK and Sky Sports Racing for the regs.

Seems an odd decision to buy him out seeing as he is essentially the brand. They would have to keep him on in some way at least.

They sold 215m cases last year. Which is probably €50m turnover, a 4x valuation would be €200m. The Mexicans paid €58m for 29% last time. Which matches that valuation.

Which means at a minimum, this was €102m. But likely a bit more a bit more. Definitely a 9 figure buyout.

I don't think he wanted to sell it , by the sounds of things he simply didn't have a choice the way the original deal was structed that after a set amount of time the Mexican company had the ability to buy his shares,

Who knows the ins & outs of the deal

But yes I agree it would make no sense to buy the brand without keeping him as its face,

To be fair it does come across as an obsession. I suggest if you honestly can't see that, have a look at your own post history in the forum. You're either trolling for a reaction, or have an unhealthy obsession with the man. Either way, could do with taking some time off.

When this is what is being reported on by RTE, it's really hard to find fault with those who have a problem with the TV licence!

    just love the die-hards!

RTE care enough to highlight his muppetry :D - as seen by 100's of thousands as it's a popular current affairs programme.

although actual current affairs may not be the strong point of some.

he set himself up for this with his hilarious "statesman" gibberish last year.

one of the all-time hilarious internet pieces.

That's the issue though, isn't it?

Why do RTE care? Why are they spending portions of the licence fee that we all pay to highlight the fact that Conor McGregor bought a bottle of whiskey and wasn't wearing a mask?

Considering it's not long since RTE had to apologise for doing the same things themselves, I wouldn't be beating this particular drum too loudly!

I'll happily watch an expose if they're investigating his links to shady characters or his alleged shenanigans that have been widely reported. But not wearing a mask in the garage? Nobody cares.

    It's a non-story.

but it is a story precisely because he made a big deal of being some sort of "statesman" nation address last year.

If Roy Keane had the deluded ego to address the nation in an Instagram video advising the government how to conduct themselves and what decisions to make despite not having a rashers in the world about viruses or epidemiology etc ...

And then subsequently decided to make his own low-rent poverty spec ad in a Spar shop selling his "Roy Keane Cork Black Pudding" and "how many had they left - it's the 2nd last pudding in the shop begorrah" and breaking the rules "normal people" have to abide by wearing a mask then it would be a story.

More on the Hans Moleman-Kamp stuff. Seems an absolute creep!

Tldr; This chap was an MMA photographer. Hans treated him like dirt so he quit. Hans had him blackballed, threatening fighters that they'd lose their Monster contracts if they worked with him

    In all fairness, Rampage is
a very nice guy who I won't criticise due to the fighter-bashing rules of the forum
so I wouldn't take his word for it at all.

Bisping mentioned on his podcast that Monelkamp tried it with him, calling him saying "We're friends, right?". Bisping pointed out that they were just business associates and Bisping suddenly lost his Monster sponsorship.

I don't know what the truth is, but Occam's Razor would tell you that there has to be some truth in all this somewhere.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,601 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

Jessy Rose Clarke is good friends with him, and has openly supported him.
She is also sponsored by Monster - and given the fact she is a fairly niche fighter - well draw your own conclusions.

Rampage is in a similar spot. He's also sponsored by monster. He saying that he wasn't blackmailed with his sponsorship to do social media antics.
But he is also still sponsored and often takes the piss on social media. So not actually in a position to comment.

Somebody like Bisping, who was, and lost a sponsorship is significantly more reliable source to have seen both sides.

The good fight foundation comment and thanked underneath the Clubs post on Twitter. After the “where’s the money” post Dustin had a follow up “sorry, I jumped the gun”. Got less coverage of course.

Given the Good Tax Foundation has massive expenses it makes sense to donate directly. For all we know they still involved.
