Teen Porn

I'm sure Humanities would be a better place to get into the morality of the porn industry using the word 'teen' to market their goods, as well as the knock on effect that might have for society. You might also talk about the sexualisation of children and the fact that so many kids have Playboy clothes, etc.

I could see why you might be concerned about the search term, but tbh if I was looking for child porn and I had no worries about others seeing my previous searches (as he apparantly isn't, if he left them all there), then I would be looking for "naked children", "kiddy porn", and so on. Not an ambiguous term like "very young girls". And considering the rest of his searches are in the "normal" (for porn... enthusiasts) end of the spectrum, I personally would just put it down to a bad choice of words.

The word "Teen" in porn is synonomous with "girls between the age of 18 and 25".

I don't know what his motives were, but it's extremely improbable that someone would find child porn using Google. "Very young girls" could easily just be a different way of searching for "teen" porn.

These thread always degenerate into something similar. And its not PI's place to discuss them

Take it elsewhere and lets see what happens with the OP

Would he not clear the history if he was searching for something like that?

I'd imagine most people that look up child porn are paranoid about covering up their tracks, even if they were not very up on technology if you were looking up something like that you'd go out of your way I'm sure. Its not hard to learn how to empty temporary filse and search historys. Hell you can get programs that do it all for you if you were too stupid to work it out for yourself.

Check the temp Internet files and see whats in there I suppose.

I note he did not use the word child.
Yah, child I would imagine would deliver more relative results if thats the sort of stuff he was looking for...

In any case, I doubt very much that actual paedophilia sites use names like childporn.com or anything as blatantly obvious as that. Would be more ambiguous I'd imagine. You wouldn't find that stuff too easily using google.

Use of the words 'very young' in the search is a bit questionable but only the person who entered the search term can answer as to what their motives were.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

I don't imagine very young girls as a search string is going to land you into any of the nasty.

There was a time not too long ago when I was 14 with the internet at my disposal, and its very easy to find porn that you assume to be your own age without ever traversing across the truly disturbing stuff. Never once did in my case [come across kiddie porn], and this was using all manner of search terms like pubescent, 14, lolita, etc.

I understand though the internet is a different beast since then and I imagine if you typed in Pre-Pubescent you land yourself in trouble.

And he was looking up young girls... and? Porn is about safely satisfying the urge. I don't think you have to worry about him jumping out of the bushes and snatching up children.

As for 'very young girls' I've heard it all; the worst was someone looking up the snuff, where the girl in question is raped then murdered. Now that is properly disturbing. Very young girls? Reality check!

i searched google for teen porn and all i got was this lousy thread...

as has been said, you can easily get 30 year olds pretending to be teens, maybe he was lookin for 17/ 18 yo's, ..or maybe he didnt want to enter anything too incriminating onto google

[typical PI response] talk to him / inform police [/typical PI response]

A lot of porn is labeled "Teen". It usually means 18-20 year old girls that happen to look young. It's a pretty innocent thing to be looking at IMO.

im more attracted to 17-20 year olds (young looking women) than more mature girls, when i search for girls of this age by writing 18 year old etc.. you get models that are about 25 an all, sometimes you have to use words like young, teen, girl, etc, i,ve never seen kiddie porn doing this and if by chance i stumbled on a page i would be gone fast-my security center tells you if the site is secure and trutworthy so that helps too. not saying that this is the same as the op but it could be!!

The thing is, the OP said that her BF isn't computer savy. In that case, would he know for sure that internet porn teens are over 18?

OP, In think the best advice given is to talk to your BF. It could all be innocent, or he could of just been looking for normal porn. But the only way you'll get a clear answer is by talking to him. Snooping around his computer will just lead to trouble. You have the "child porn" idea in your head now and may end up misreading anything you find to fit that theory.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

Hmmm. "Very young girls" might refer to 15-year-olds though. Not children, but they also are children.

I'm a 32 year old bloke and I have a problem with searching for "very young girls"

It could be a joke or something else, but I'd definitely look into it further.

    It sounds dodgy to me.

It's a long shot, but "Very Young Girls" is also a documentary about the porn industry

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,497 ✭✭✭✭Dragan

Guys, the chances of finding something by typing in "child porn" other than news stories and websites giving some well deserved condemnation to the sick scum who would end up searching for it would be slim to none.

I doubt cracking child porn rings is as simple as googling and tracking ip addresses.

OP, at this moment you have one dodgy google search, multiple users of a PC and very little else.

I wouldn't start accusing your boyfriend of sinister intentions just yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

OP if i were you i'd do some more sleuthing, i dunno what your area of computer expertise is though, but everyone probably knows that you never really totally delete something of a computer. (well almost never)

NO! No no no. Do not do anymore sleuthing. If I discovered my GF had been snooping around on my computer, I would know we had a serious trust problem, and I would be finishing with her. Wait until your BF comes home, and say you found some funny search terms in google. Re-iterate that you dont mind him looking at porn but you were a bit concerned about one specific search term.

You dont know for sure it was him. It could have been one of the other guys. It could have been one of the other guys stirring the sh1t between you and your bf.

It could also have been a stray copy/paste record that got pasted in by accident. I do that all the time.
is there a computer expert out there that could show this girl how to get into his internet history.
sorry im not that good on that kind of stuff

Well yes, Im an IT Security Specialist. But believe it or not even hackers with the blackest of hats, have ethics. It is his computer. No one has the right to show anyone how to access it.

TALK to him. Get back to us when you have done that.

IF, and it is a big if, it was him. And IF he did mean to search for that particular phrase, it could still be harmless.

In my experience with porn, alot of sites have so called "barely legal teens", most of which are between the ages of 18 and 25, and are perfectly legal. What ever other peoples idea of what a young girl is, age in the porn industry is very skewed.

I doubt the guy (if it's him) is looking for small children, rather highly sexualised teens - lolita-type girls. Since the OP is asking for our views, mine is that I would have a problem with my boyfriend having such an interest.

This is like saying he's a pedophile for typing 'hot school girls'. And just because he searches it one day that doesn't mean he has a fetish and is constantly thinking about 'very young dirrrty slutty girls'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85,049 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

Have to agree that this is no potential paedophilia case. Leave the computer alone and talk to him when he comes home, but don't expect any praise if you jump to conclusions.

Agreed as well, you don't know who he let borrow the computer to go on Bebo. My neighbours last year had once laptop between 4 of them and the other 3 took a lot of fun filling it full of gay porn.

and Zero, you're a white-hat :p not a blackie (unless you're batman at home) - someone writes the bugs that steal my passwords and paypal login details. But thats neither here nor there:
OP while it isn't the hardest thing in the world to do, I strongly advise you leave it alone rather than snoop around the computer; its on par with rooting through any of his other personal belongings - its just not done.

Whoa horsey! Lolita type girl is described as between 9-14, thats child porn.

from what i read the fella sounds like he's into young women type, maybe not but that was my take on it, otherwise he would have googled child or put in a specific age! Lots of men love the schoolgirl thing an all but that does not mean 14 year olds float there boat.

for fantasy i like 17-18 year old looking school girl, innocent etc.. all legal and above board-some of my mates like older women-its everyone to there own once its all above board. dont mind if the girl is 40 dressing up for me though!!

    +1

if it was that easy to find there would be none on the net because the police would have got it all
thats it. its the girl bit. very young woman is 18 maybe even 17. 'girls' a completely different ball game.

as randylonghorn said, a very young girl could be anyone up to 30 and would be extremely unlikely to be anyone under 18 and pretty much guaranteed not to be if searching on google. that's just how the industry works. veryyounggirls.com is more likely to get hits than 30yearoldwomen.com

anyone who has searched any porn like terms on file sharing programs will tell you that the file names are all extremely long with random porn related words in them that usually have absolutely nothing to do with whats contained in the video. websites put the files up with their address embedded in the picture or video so people will see the file and go to their site.
for example, you search the word 'porn' and the first result could be:

woman porn child kiddy rape sex donkey etc etc etc etc etc.wmv

and there's nothing in it but a woman in a jumper telling you all about the porn website she's on. download limewire, type in the word porn and you'll see what i'm talking about. pretty much every result is like that

Devils Advocate: I don't think the OP is concerned with how successful his search was, more the fact that he searched for it to begin with.

    [/advocate]

but OP try and realise the search string was more than likely just used to get at genuine 18 material. Have you tried performing these searches yourself to see what you get? Maybe its time you did. Go see how hard it is to arrive at the conclusions you're fearing and try and relax a bit.

Ok, I didn't do any more nosing through his computer. I told him I saw what he was looking up and I listed the 'teenies' etc. He knows I don't mind porn so he was kind of laughing it off when I was saying it.

Until.. I mentioned the 'very young girls' and asked him what exactly he was looking for. I said that in my opinion very young girls are children. He nearly dropped dead with shock at the suggestion that he was looking for child images. I swear, the tears welled in his eyes as he tried to explain to me that it was just a 'teenage' thing he was going through and that there was nothing sinister in the search. He didn't even deny it was him or say it was one of the other lads. I feel that if he had something to hide, he may have denied that he did the search.

He was hurt that I would even consider that he would be looking for anything other than legal porn. He was pleading with me, did I really think he was into that sh*t? That I must know that he's not like that, that he'd never 'interfere with' or 'force himself' on anyone no matter what age they were and that he has no interest in looking at naked children.

Housemate came in at this point so it was left up in the air.

He brought it up again later and said that I had to know that it was innocent. It was. Gut instinct told me originally (but I couldn't help but wonder and wanted to find out other people's views) and his reaction during the conversation told me. He even said that some search he did brought up an image of an anorexic that nearly made him sick so it's mainstream pornsites (if there's such a thing! like redtube) from here on on, no more googling..

    Thanks for the viewpoints. Phew.

If he was looking for child porn, no way he wouldn't have deleted his search terms and internet history afterwards. He wasn't after child porn, he was after hot young women with that first flush of youth appeal. You've nothing to worry about, it doesn't even seem troubling to me. Plenty of people are strongly attracted to recently sexually matured girls, it's when they're most fertile, and of course that's gonna involve some underage people, it can't be helped, it's biology. It's not like the law can pop up with an arbitrary age cut off and expect sexuality to magically fall in line. The problem is people tend to get healthy human sexuality (which leads to interest in young, virginal type girls), confused with the unnatural will to exploit and harm children when it's only the latter that produces the kind of people who pursue underage porn. But there really isn't a correlation. It doesn't matter what your boyfriend is attracted to, I think it's pretty clear that he has no desire to pursue child porn and for that reason his interests are a world away from anything deserving of repulsion or discomfort, no matter how superficially close they seem to dodgy territory.

To be honest, I'd have a job staying with someone who'd even entertained such a melodramatic and hurtful explanation as this with no solid grounding, especially when if it was meant to be the person closest to me in the world.

We do cos OP gave us the info when she updated, so its not speculation.
(Any speculation in this thread is entirely the OP's if and but's in her head and her if and but child porn shock brigade bandwagoners! - granted society must protect children but not to the extent of calling others good name into question)
she asked him what he was looking for and SAID clearly in her opinion, very young girls are children - and therefore did in fact imply her BF was looking at children in a sexual manner - without actually saying those words!

OP also pointed out that it was erronous of her to do so - and she should have trusted her gut feeling

Meh i bet if you were to ask the majority of people what "very young girls" meant the majority would presume underage girls i.e young teenagers/children. AFAIK the legal age for anyone to be involed in anything pronographic is 18 y o. You presume differently. That is your perception, it was obviously not the OP's. She did the right thing in talking to him about it imo. Leaving it up in the air would have been detrimental to the relationship anyway. I still think there is something very fishy about this whole thing. Searching "very young girls" is still suspect imo. But its just my opinion.

To me "very young girls" means around 12 years old, and "child" means 5 or 6 or something like that.

The term "teenies" defo means "early teens".

So it sounds like he likes girls who have just hit puberty.

Im on record as saying that i have sexual preference physicaly for young girls of 18 or so even 40 if they look 18! this is totally legal and just my type, when i search on the net for this type of girl you have to type in stupid things like young girls etc.. then most of the time you still get 28 year old girls instead of the 18 yr old your looking for.

i found kiddie stuff by mistake (sick, making kids look like models, but looked like professional stuff probably known to there parents) yesterday by mistake searching a term used in this thread as i did not know what it meant, that was the 1st time i ever seen such thing and i'd regularly search for young girls meaning 18 year olds..

if i was mistaken as a paedo i would be so hurt as i'd imagine the op's partner was..lots of my mates prefer younger women and its just the same as some people who like older women.

To me, it seems like he was looking for sexualised teens, definitely not children. There are 15-year-old girls who appear a lot older in terms of their physical development and how they dress etc. Big difference between that and a small girl playing hopscotch. A guy who fancies a sexily dressed 15-year-old girl with big boobs and sultry make-up/clothes is not a paedophile. The attractiveness of this girl is not that she's childlike - because obviously she isn't. It's her "womanliness" and I suppose the illicit thrill due to the fact that she's so young.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,382 ✭✭✭✭AARRRGH

Dudess those type of girls are called "jailbait". It's possible this is what the OP's boyfriend likes. If he is unaware of that term that might be the reason he was using "very young girls" etc. as his search words.

(Note: it's safe enough to search for "jailbait". There isn't any nudity.)

You're being weirdly OTT in defending this guy if you think -

"teenies" and "very young girls" have nothing to do with "very young girls", and that he's as innocent as a Doctor who specialises in Children's medical issues.

    Strange.

Dudess i'm not trying to misconstrue your point but.....;)
It is illegal to look at girls on the internet that are 15 as it is to sleep with them in real life. My point is that everyone has there own opinion as to what "very young girls" means. It obviously made the OP suspect her OH. I don't think she should be critiscised for having a completely normal reaction.
