Reminds me of a young lad I saw the last time I was in McDonalds. He was maybe early 20s.

He was an employee, and obviously had had one of those big rings inserted into his earlobe.

However, the ring was gone, not sure if he took it out or wasn't allowed to wear it at work, but his earlobe was hideous to look at. It was hanging down all droppy and it looked like his lobe had been shot.

What are some people thinking? He'll probably need constructive surgery to get his ear anyway half normal looking again.

Nope, you cut it and stitch it, fixes it

Am I the only one who feels sorry for her?

She was only 21, the folly of youth and all that.

I feel sorry for her too. Worrying how so many on Boards (in real life?) lack empathy towards others.

She is now severely disabled for the rest of her life.

If she lives a nornal lifespan that's about 60 years of being blind ahead of her, a high price to pay for a fad that will be something else in a few years.

    People are dumb as ****.

Just read about a “skull breaker” challenge.

    Darwin take them all.

It’s a waste of empathy on people who are their own downfall out of pure stupidity.

All McDonalds employees should have these. It comes in handy for carrying around drinks.

Of course I feel bad for her, but she's 25 not 15, it was a serious risk to take and it's turned out badly.

    The recklessness of youth

If they could only bottle it

    Poor girl.

We've all made ridiculous decisions while young. We're just lucky we didn't go blind from them.

Many years ago I saw a sign in a hairdressers saying they were doing ear and nose piercings. I went in to get my nose pierced and the girl tried to do it with a ear piercing gun and an ear stud. It wouldn't go through my nose and I ended up walking out with blood dripping from where it had went halfway through. Thinking back I was lucky. An earring is far too long to pierce a nose with and it might have done worse damage if it had went through. Fortunately I've never felt the urge to fuck with my eyes.

Come on. She's 25, a grown adult, not a child, who should know better.
Even a quick Google of "eyeball tattooing" is enough to put most sensible people off.

Even if there wasn't any problems, it's irreversible. Who wants to spend the rest of their days looking freakish with black flipping eyeballs?

Ah I dunno WG, from what I gather she was 21 when she had it done? I'm not the most sensible now, but at 21 I was as daft as a brush. What saved me from real danger was a healthy risk aversion and fear of pain. And things you'd consider at 21, you'd not go near at 31. Plus when you consider the average IQ is 100, there's a fair chunk of people where their lift doesn't go quite to the hundredth floor and takes its sweet time travelling to the floors beneath.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

What might the chances be that injecting black ink into your eyeballs might result in you seeing black?! A scary enough prospect, surely now she can see that much.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,827 ✭✭✭✭whisky_galore

    21, 25, whichever, in her 20s.

She will have a hell of a long time to sit down and think about what she's done.

i dont get the empathy towards her or complaing that people arnt showing her empathy. yes its sad but its totally self enflicted through stupidity

  • Registered Users Posts: 962 ✭✭✭James 007

I saw a nipple (Male) done with a piercing gun before. It was actually in Fibbers one night. Some randomer going around giving free piercings with a gun. So a mate of mine decides to get one done.

You want to see the damage that did to a nipple.
The stud part was buried in the flesh surrounding the nipple and had to be cut out the next morning with a metal snips.

    Not nice.

    Stupid people do stupid things.

No sympathy for this idiot that got her eyeball tattooed. Gives bad name to the industry.

Possible nominee for a Darwin Award.

    She's not dead.

I remember a prisoner on the USA had it done as well, he was in the news a few years ago.

No sight problems for him though so it seems the tattooist in the prison was better at his job than the guy this one went to.

Of which she'll be unable to see with her black orbs of blindness.

Eye tattooing is the dumbest body modification, not even anal bleaching is this dumb.

She was young and this procedure had been done on others without this happening. She had every reason to believe it was relativly safe to do and, what she believed to be, a professionals assurance.

Horrific thing to happen to anybody.
