Anyone aware what the extent of the works being undertaken?
3/4 of the river walk up to the hotel is no longer open from friday for 21 months as the Burncourt regional water supply scheme is underway.
County council cpo'd the land from and 'will return' it but anyone know if the place will be anyway like it was?

The main car park at Glengarra Woods and some of it's associated trails are currently off limits to the general public from the 21st of November, 2014 for a duration of 20 months. This is to facilitate work on the Burncourt Regional Water Supply Scheme. An alternate car park has been constructed close by to accomodate visitors who may wish to access the Millennium Forest and the mountain, its about a few hundred meters west of closed car park,
90% of forest is still open.

heres the public notice with map showing closed area

    Yeah likewise.
Spoke to an engineer regarding it. Assures it will be as was bar a new small structure half way up. This i believe is where there is already an older structure.
The guys contracted to do the work have 21 months to complete but its possible it could be done sooner.
Would really hate to see the place changed and hope the new small building is a low profile affair.

Any Idea when it will be open fully again?
I was up there recently and there is large amount of activity on site dozens of vehicles. Are they going right to the wire?

From an environmental point of view much of the rest of wood on west side appears to be thoroughly infested with rhododendron invasion species tree.
    Anyone doing anything about that?
