Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We are in our house 10 years now.

We have a surveyor out who was pretty crap.Gave the house the all clear but we subsequently had to get the electrics, plumbing all re-done.The same surveyor didnt tell us the extension roof was at the wrong pitch and we had to get the roof re-done as it was leaking.

ANyway we have an extension which was in the house before we bought it.We have noticed cracks outside and inside on the walls. We are worried that there is a structural issue and we want to get it checked out as we have 2 kids and are worried about the worst case scenario ie the extension collpasing.

Can anyone tell me who Id contact to get this checked out?

Is there a structural engineer or surveyor that could give me advice or tell me whether the extension is safe etc?

    PLs advise.

    thanks

You need a local structural engineer to take a look and advise you. If you post a location someone here might be able to give you a recommendation by PM.

In the meantime keep an eye on the cracks and see are they changing in shape/size - that's the first question you'll be asked.

You can buy devices called "tell tales" to measure the movement but if its short term you can probably jerry rig something home made for a short while.
