Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's a popular pastime in Ireland and we have a stereotype of it being overdone compared to other countries but how much would you tolerate in your girlfriend?

Would you be okay with a girl that doesn't drink much but when she drinks, she binges to the point of blacking out or a girl that drinks maybe only a glass of wine/one beer but does it is 3 to 5 times a week?

As long as it doesn't interfere with her child rearing, managing of the home and her wifely duties I would permit her a small snifter of sherry after Sunday mass. Anymore could lead to a risk of a loose tongue.

    14 fluid ounces.

I would say nothing and she would drink as much as she wants to.

Then i would judge her negatively if she drinks too much. Sign of a person without self control

Women are drinking a lot more than they did 30 years ago right? This is not just my imagination.

It’s more a case of, how drunk would a partner have to be to tolerate me?

    Of whah?

My wife is generally considered not to be of a sober temperament. She has a very sour personality, in fact whenever her imbibometer is at zero, she is a shrew. In hip-hop terms, she is defined by a term I dare not use on a forum.

14 fluid ounces doesn't begin to address her need for drink, and I am therefore responsible for providing her with an ethylated equilibrium, in large apportioned potions. Whatever happens to her when she is sober, I wash my hands of...

I wouldn't be a big drinker myself nowadays so it probably wouldn't work for me if a girlfriend's idea of a good night was a session every time.

I am noticing some friends are hitting the drink pretty hard lately. I'd say it'll be a wider effect of lockdown generally when it's all over :(

this person has an interesting history.. .have a look back through it...
Its like an episode of Coronation Street wrapped up into one person.

How people still reply to him is strange ..
    (yes, I know I have replied also …. )

I'd rather her get steamed to the gills and sniffing lindsay lohan lines off a mirror once a month than her drinking a bottle of wine 4/5 nights a week for sure.
