Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You can't seriously think Dave is full of sh1t, whenever he's been wrong it's because plans changed. He's as close to the Gospel as you can get.

Have to agree, Dave is generally more right than he's wrong

So looks like a Dusty Finish for Fast Lane then. If it's a Triple Threat does Reigns still win?

Haven't saw a double pin in a long time. Miss the confused look of the referees afterwards

That was certainly the case a couple of years ago, but for whatever reason, he's made many wrong calls since. How many of those were down to a change of plans I can't be certain, but he's a long ways away from being a gospel. Anyways, I don't see the triple threat happening.

No offence but do you read the Observer or listen to the radio shows cause if not you really can't speak about his "wrong calls".

He gets worked by Heyman fairly regularly which is good fun. The CM Punk returning to Chicago was the best example.

Wasn't that Flair but that what I mean even now people say he said 100% Punk was coming back when all he said was he heard it from someone he would trust who it turned out was probably Flair given false info on purpose to out him as a Meltzer source.

Tbh its impossible now to get scoops for WWE as they change so much on the fly more terrible planning from WWE than Meltzer but you can`t say his sources are what they once were. He also gets mistranslated a lot too which doesn't help.
I wouldn't be subscribing to the newsletter for just that anymore imo but I find the whole product is just so flat right now it doesn`t bother me not knowing the plans tbh.

Ah, I remember the calls that Meltzer had lost his credibility back in 2004. Now his 'golden age' has began since then. The more things change... :pac:

Anyway, re: a potential triple threat at Mania....it is shocking if true, because it means two years in a row, we have had a repeat of mistakes, in that they horribly mismanage the Rumble, and then realise they have to shove Bryan into the main event to stop the fans ****ing on it. I wonder at what stage, or what will it take before, they just say **** it! he is obviously someone the fans adore. So let's actually try and capitalise on it, rather than fighting it for no reason other than spite....

I'd respect them more if they stick to Reigns/Lesnar for the sheer bloody-mindedness. It'd be embarrassing to have another triple-threat with D-Bry shoehorned in.

Embarrassing to have someone the fans love and who can get a classic match out of Reigns and Lesnar, Lesnar not in the ring with a top worker doesn't get classic matches. Plus neither of those guys can call a match and Bryan is a ring general. Reigns can still win, Lesnar takes the pin. WWE get Reigns as Champion. The fans might actually get a classic match, you now what they pay for. You respect them putting on the worse match possible.

WWE has reportedly changed its plans for Wrestlemania 31, with Vince McMahon making the final decision. For most of 2014, it was expected that it would be Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns for the title. Fans then rejected WWE’s plans for Reigns at the Royal Rumble, similar to what they did with Batista’s win at the Rumble before it.

Daniel Bryan, meanwhile, was expected to wrestle Sheamus at Wrestlemania. Then he began to talk about Dolph Ziggler on social media about a possible match.

Now it looks like he’s back to main eventing Wrestlemania. Vince McMahon has changed his mind and has decided on Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan. It was believed after the Rumble that McMahon would not want to do another triple threat match since that happened last year. However he heard the fan backlash against Roman Reigns and held a meeting with WWE officials to decide the new main event.
WWE.com ran a poll this weekend asking who was more deserving of the main event. Daniel Bryan won with 86% of the vote.

So it looks like, as always, Vince has the last say on this. He reportedly hates Triple Threats for the main belt at Mania so this was done for 3 reasons:

    1) To placate the Bryan fans
    2) Have someone who isnt a big bulky b*stard lead the match. Brock is incredible but he needs someone else of technical brilliance to bring out the best in him.
    3) Leave the outcome of the match in some doubt in case they dont re-sign Brock by Mania. If he's going back to UFC by April then the outcome will be in no doubt and the crowd will sh*t all over it if its just him Vs Reigns.

Regardless of what happens, short of a few Philly style reactions to him on TV over the next 5 weeks I cant see anyone but Reigns winning at Mania.

I'd agree on the 3 points. Who wins doesn't matter anyway as I can see Rollins cashing in at WM. And a triple threat match is kayfabe so draining that it makes whoever he cashes in on look great so I'd agree that it'll be Reigns pinning Lesnar.

Raw is in LA, Pittsburgh and Chicago before WM. Could easily happen.

Is it just me or has having only one champion really affected Wrestlemania plans since Orton won both belts?

Nope. The title already seems bigger for it and there is no fear of the other title (WHC) being treated like an afterthought. The main title should always be built around what the road to WM is about and when you had two some of the magic was lost.

The Champion should be the focal point of the show and he should be the best on the roster.

The WHC died a death around the time Rey won it. Taker and Edge and even CM Punk lifted the WHC back up again, Swagger absolutely killed it then. He had no business being World Champion.

You could argue having two world titles means more chances for the likes of Ziggler, Cesaro, Sandow, Ambrose, Barrett etc but I think having one title is best.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,041 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

They should also drop one of the midcard titles (US) and only have Tag, Intercontinental and World.

The midcard would be so much better if there were 10 - 12 guys who were all booked to be in the running for one belt.

Highlander Drew McDonald passed away from Cancer tonight:

    B9bM-jNIcAABhk5.jpg

Used to wrestle along with the likes of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks on ITV. Went on to be fixture on the British Indie scene for the next 20 years or so. Then become the UK talent scout for WWE spotting the likes of Paige, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Wade Barrett etc. A deceivingly looking kind man.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,159 ✭✭✭mrkiscool2

So Rollins is in real risk of being fired. According to a "Morality Clause" in all active talent's contracts, any nude/pornographic pictures or videos that can be found online of the talent signing the contract is instant grounds for dismissal and blacklisting from the company. Will be interesting to see what happens!

I'd say he will be fine, it was his fiancée who uploaded the photo onto Twitter. What might land him in hot water though is posting the nude photo of Zahra Schreiber since it popped up on WWEs website.

It comes at the worst possible time though. After Triple H's comments about Chyna he kind of has no choice but to punish him.

So Rollins is losing the case it's safe to say.

PWInsider says there's no heat on him. It was a hack and the pictures were posted on several social media accounts a number of times. Seth deleted what he could. WWE sent out a memo to all employees not to talk about it in respect of Seth.

His. Rollins seemed to be seeing or saw other women besides his fiance and Zahra too. Seth and Zahra are in a wrestler/musician clique than is known for shagging around.

Infidelity is rampant in wrestling in fairness. Comes with the job and the non stop travel schedule I suppose.

    Meltzer thinks it's true.

Did Meltzer mention the source of his information or is it more of a general 'being around the business thing'?

This'll be the biggest story in wrestling for the week or so. Jericho or Stone Cold can't say anything on their podcasts because they're kind of affiliated with WWE. I wonder which podcast will run with it?

The same thing used to be said about Jimmy Snuka. Most of those crazy rumours eventually die, the Snuka and Savage one's are those that keep popping up (and the Hogan family ones too actually). And all it would take to kill it is something simple like Stephanie denying it in an interview that they could easily have staged (ala Triple H with Austin). Why not do that over the years? The only reason not to do it is if you don't want to have Stephanie lie about what would've been a traumatic experience for her. That's the thing that hooks me.

We'll never know for sure either way though.
