    I'd say with about 95% certainty that this isn't USB powered. It doesn't say USB power in the link, it does say 'Desktop External' which implies less portability, and it has a 3.5" HDD inside, which AFAIK cannot run from the ~500ma provided by USB.

    It's a 3.5" drive which aren't powered by USB, only 2.5" drives can be powered by USB. The drive certainly connects via USB but it will need to be plugged into the wall. The DID site has it wrong I'm afraid.
