Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So I got scammed from a dealer in Clonee, and am now looking for a cheap
car for all my grandchildren to fit into. Looking for a 2006,07 Toyota Verso
If buying from private will a good hired mechanic pick up any faults? Or would I be best going to a garage? Should I hire a mechanic if buying from there also.
Want to avoid getting scammed again. Or should I dress as a man??:D

Surely you know one person with a bit of mechanical knowledge?

    Sorry about your troubles OP.

You're best off getting a car from a dealer as it will have some warranty.
We'd be happy to give recommendations if you give us your location.

If you live in Clonee then have two contacts that could sort you out, one is mechanic and can help with choosing a car and other is a dealer.....

I can guess who you bought off in Clonee and is dodgy

    Depends on the dealer.

At this price point the op is more likely to find cowboys and trade salers than actual dealers.

Going down the sale of goods act and small claims court route if problems arise is fine in theory but its a pain in reality.

That said an awful lot of corolla versos of that age are for sale by small time dealers. Just treat these as you would a private purchase and you should be fine.
