Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Replacement gas boiler - SEAI grants

    Hi,

My gas boiler has recently broken down and needs to be replaced. I was looking at my options and I got a quote of around €2.5k for a new Ideal combi boiler, magnaclean, chemicals and a flush of my rads to get rid of sludge.

I think I am entitled to apply for the SEAI grants for a replacement boiler and the plumber mentioned that if I wanted to apply for that, this would probably increase the cost of the job, as the SEAI require the job to be done to a higher spec.

I was wondering if anyone else has experience of this and if there is a net cost difference once the grants have been claimed.

    Thanks in advance.

No, you must replace the boil rand upgrade your controls to access the €700 grant

Ahh right, I thought that there were separate grants, one for the boiler of about €400 and one for boiler and heating controls of €700 that you mentioned.

    Thanks for the reply.

You don’t need to replace the boiler do you? Just the controls afaik?
